Was he a Marge Schott hire?
There is no way to gauge sincerity in an apology, especially coming from someone with 30 years of experience in broadcasting. He is a professional in public speaking. He has been well-trained in exactly how to handle moments like that. I highly doubt that the first time such a comment is caught on the air, is ever the first time that the person has said such a thing. Nobody is that unlucky.I thought it was the best apology I've seen. It was sincere and he kept doing his job until the very end.

Awww it’s little dinky using his schoolyard insults to boost his e-cred. I see Septic tank liked your post. That’s not surprising. Most of your posts are s**t so naturally it’s gonna attract flies.
They don't scare me. They disgust me. Since 1970 over 3000 Americans have been killed by Muslims here in the US. So sorry if I don't share the same Muslims are inherently good crap. I guess this is the same old oh we should be PC and respect everybody right? Well I am not like that. So why should I respect or like a people who kill Americans for joy?
So because of what they have done, I automatically suspect any Middle Eastern person as a terrorist. Last year in Atlanta I saw a Middle Eastern person on the same plane as me and I requested to be let off. Sorry but I don't trust anyone from the Middle East and never will.
I said it cut into the appearance of sincerity. I have no way to know if it was truly sincere or not. I don't know the guy. It was awkward to call a homerun (typically an exciting call) in the middle of apologizing for a slur. However, I do not believe that the first time a person is documented saying something inappropriate, is the first time that they have ever made such a comment.but in an earlier post you gauged the appearance of sincerity...
In lieu of entertaining any semblance of debate with someone who is a steamed mental vegetable, I'll just bring this ditty back to rub some stonk on whatever credibility you think you have:
I can see why you sympathize with someone saying something bigoted. You are a racist piece of garbage. May a million flies infest your butthole.
Spur of the moment thing.... he may have been being removed right then and he asked to apologize to viewers..... I prefer that compared to the made up stuff written by other..... people are going to judge no matter what he said or when he said it.They should have waited to the completion of that half inning to replace him. Having to intermingle a play call with an apology really cuts into the appearance of sincerity.
They should’ve just pulled him in between innings and had the other announcer apologize briefly for what was said and that there would be further comment after the game. That was the most awkward apology ever. I take pride in being a man of faith ... and there goes a homerun. It's now four to nothing. ... I'm deeply sorry to anyone I've offended.
The faith thing was just weird to throw in there. They should’ve just pulled him in between innings and had the other announcer apologize briefly for what was said and that there would be further comment after the game.
I thought the apology was fine. There’s nothing he could say to make things better. All he could do is acknowledge, ask for forgiveness and now go make amends.Maybe I'm alone in thinking it was a good apology. It wasn't crafted by PR. It was right in the moment and I thought the call in the middle was completely natural for a baseball play by play guy. It won't save his job but personally I liked it more than the "prepared statement".

You think it was good to invoke religion when caught in the act of being anti gay? What has religion ever done for gays? How does that help one "get out of jail" here?
