It sucked.... Horribly...

You seem to be in the minority, why did you hate it?

I saw this afternoon, and I thought it was pretty good. Not the best superhero movie ever, but a pretty good entry to the Avengers saga.

Anyone else stay for the end-credit scene? I had no idea what it meant outside of it being more hype for the Avengers.

Thor was my favorite comic book character back in the 60's and 70's. Back then, the Destroyer seemed to be the ultimate bad guy. I will probably go see the movie, but I don't expect it to live up to the comic book. Super hero movies seldom do.

Been awhile but I would have thought Thanos before Destroyer.

Good solid movie. I will go see this again and in 3-D this time. The reason this movie has the best Sci-Fi fantasy art I have ever seen movie or other wise. Bound to be mind blowing in 3-D.

Comic-wise there were items in Marvel called a "cosmic cube"....they were essentially "pure, unlimited energy/power" I guess would be the best way to put it

Cosmic Cube - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm assuming that's what they're going for with it.

the wiki also says this:

The Cosmic Cube appears in several films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

A hypercube is seen in Howard Stark's notes (flipped through by Tony Stark) in Iron Man 2.

The Cosmic Cube is seen briefly in the film Thor in a post-credits scene. Nick Fury shows the box to Erik Selvig who, under the control of Loki, asks what it is, to which Fury replies "Power".

A Cosmic Cube—known in the film as the seemingly magical "Tesseract"—will be involved in Red Skull's plan for world domination in the upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger.

My guess is that Loki will be the main villain in the Avengers

would make sense. I think they've already announced that he will be (& it's been a long while since I've read the comics, but i think he's supposedly involved in their formation)

If they don't water it down, he'll be a badass in the upcoming Avengers movie.

They'll probably screw it up though.

he's got to have screen time split among alot of main characters, however he's also the only kinda-really new character in the film

Have never read the comic books so was confused at the end. Did Loki make skaarsgard bad by taking control of his body?

the defender of the Frostgiants little box was the baddest ass thing I've ever seen. When he first came out of that wall he obliterated those guys. That was sick

Great movie. Natalie Portman, as always, looks very good. Too much product placement, they weren't even very subtle about it this time.

Over the years, I have amassed quite a few Thor comics. Yep, back in 1965 for a young lad of 10 to gather up 12 cents to buy a comic was an almost unsurmountable task. So the guys I grew up with would buy different books. I bought Thor, another guy bought Spider Man, another Fantastic Four, etc. and we would each take turns reading other's books on the school bus or where ever we got a chance.

I never collected comics, I just bought them, read them and just left them lying around. Amazing that I have any left over the years, but I've got several big plastic bins full of them

I can tell you this about the movie. While I enjoyed the movie, the Destroyer was definitely underpowered. As was Thor. Both are bad mammy-jammers in the comics.

Here are a few pictures of some of my old 'Thor comics. I was especially fond of Jack Kirby and Walt Simenson's work.
