I'm no expert by far, but I was a bit nervous about this guy so watched some of his highlights from last year before the injury. Here are my thoughts.

1) He has an ok arm, nothing great. Long passes tend to float some and has a bit of a wind up, even on the short throws. Decent overall.

2) He has good...yes...you knew it was coming...presence in the pocket. Really feels the pressure and moves around well. We will certainly need to contain him.

3) I would say he has good speed, but not elite. Don't know his 40 time but I would rank Marshall from AU much more dangerous running than Keeton. Was surprised he didn't break more long runs, but he can pick up 5-10 in a hurry if you let him.

4) From what I watched they love to throw the slant on anything 3rd and more than 5 to go. Will be interested to see if that is true in our game. Hopefully we find that out early!

Overall, I'm not as worried about him as I was before watching the film. He can certainly beat you, but if we can contain him and make him throw it a lot, I like our chances of keeping them out of the end zone.

great player

-10 months out on an ACL/MCL
same with his running backs
-New, smaller, inexperienced O Line protecting him
-decent weapons.
-never seen a knee injury be downplayed as much by the national media as this one.
-they are a lateral, rhythm passing team

doesnt run as much as people think. He usually only runs when he has to. More elusive than fast. Anxious to see how he bounces back from a knee injury when the live bullets come flying.

He is a very good mid-major QB....not as good as we have faced against Cincinnati, NC State, or WKU however.

He will be forgotten on Monday. This game costs him $$ in the draft.

Keeton is a very good QB, but that's not what we should be worried about. The scary part about Utah State is that they play fast and physical. They will not be afraid to play in front of 100,000 fans. The edge we have at home will not bother Utah State. That's why so many people have this as a trap game for us because it's not the talent that worries people it's the fact that Utah State just plays hard and consistent in any environment. They aren't some elite team, but they will give us everything they have and we will have to show up and play hard. I expect a very fast paced game that will most likely be close until the second half in which our depth should take over and help us win by 14+.

So damn sick of hearing about how this kid is the best QB in the history of college football and how he's gonna singlehandedly lead his merry band of inexperienced 2 stars to a rousing upset victory over Tennessee in front of 102k in Neyland. Let the game begin so can can get on to wringing his stupid neck already.

This is not a Trap Game. Doesn't meet the Criteria for that. This is a season opener against a somewhat quality team, but it is not a Trap Game.

A "Trap Game" is a game that is played before or after a tough or rival opponent. Teams have a tendency to look past an opponent preparing for the following week's game, or have a letdown after beating a tough or rival opponent.

From what I've seen he is quick, elusive and going to give 110% each play. He can get rid of the ball fast and His accuracy ain't that bad, but I think he is a little over confident. When under pressure he forces a lot of tight windowed throws. Obviously he can run the ball and we'll need someone spying and containing him at all times. I believe he will throw a couple picks if we can put pressure on him

Agreed. If we give up more than 13 points to their offense I'm gonna be disappointed

One thing last year showed us is that mobile quarterbacks could eat our lunch. Hopefully the off-season and the injection of talent will help change that, but until game day, that's still a problem for us in my book.
