Thoughts on Kentucky

If Poythress does not want to leave, and you're already sick of this freshman who's from Middle TN, send him our way. Sounds like he should have gone here.

He has been the biggest waste of talent in a loooong time that I've seen.

And please, show me where legitimate Kentucky fans have been complaining on VN.

some little kitty named chilidog in the basketball forum been crying and taking potshots at UT and CCM the last 24 hours. there's others also, all you gotta do is take off those blue tinted glasses and look. as far a legitimate, who knows, I wouldn't consider any fan of another school legitimate if they camp out on opposing message boards all the time.

Wiltjer was KY's MVP for 40 mins, IMO. I like his game.
He's a great spot-up shooter, but that's about it. He can't create his own shot and doesn't score well in the post against bigger defenders. On top of that, he doesn't defend or rebound.

He's probably UK's best player without Noel, though. That's more of a testament to how disappointing Goodwin, Poythress, and Harrow have been rather than how good Wiltjer has been.

It was in response to people saying Martin had starters in with 5 minutes left was classless.

I know. Still, can't blame Wiltjer for trying.

so your saying that you'd rather troll on VN than to discuss uk basketball with other cats fans on catpause? sounds like a legitimate fan to me

I'd rather live in Canada and a hermit than be subjected to converse with those idiots.

You seem to be the only legit Cat on this board right now. Kudos, Im kind of enjoying the moment if you havent noticed...no offense to YOU.

Thanks?

He's just a freshman.
The "problem" is that your standards for freshmen have been raised to the point that everyone's expected to be a superstar right away.

He's been good backing down defenders and then scoring in the paint. Maybe he only does that well against the Vols.

Hardwood and Brian are miles ahead of everyone else, including me.

Yeah, it definitely sucks to be compared to some of the people we have had, and to have standards raised really high. But that's all part of playing at Kentucky.

Yeah, those guys should know what they're getting into.
It's just frustrating from our perspective to have a 5* TN recruit go to UK and then fail to meet their expectations. We could have used him.

I believe you are correct. His build, his athleticism, and his game all scream out for him to have that swagger and lead this team. But in his heart (at least so far) he wants to be a role player. I think he could have blossomed elsewhere, this spotlight isn't for everyone.

If that's the case, then he could have been sick by his junior year at UT.
But, UK will probably advise (cut) him to cash in now.

I think that AP just has a little Terrence Jones syndrome. May take a few years to get it worked out. That's cool with me. These kids all aren't one and dones as many assume.
