The "Jon" problem had been ongoing. It was nothing new and most in the AD knew it. He was a hinderance to the program and to Kellie. I do not believe he was Kellie's main problem -- she just wasn't a great coach and couldn't recruit well enough to be competitive. I also wonder if Danny White had approached her about changing up Jon's position over the last couple of seasons when he saw a pattern set in of undiscplined play, subpar recruiting and other team mishandlings? Most of us will never know. And Kellie was in a lose-lose situation with her coaching ability AND her husband being her right-hand man. Ultimately, I don't believe if Kellie would've reassigned Jon (or any other angle to make it seem like a good move for their family, etc) would've made a difference. She just wasn't getting the job done. My bigger question now as the firing settles in is: why couldn't Sam Williams haul in the recruits???
Because Jon, incompetent buffoon that he is, was sabotaging the recruiting efforts buy hanging around the recruits while picking his nose and doing imitations of Barney Fife. It was all Jon's fault, no matter what anyone says to the contrary. How dare him be allowed to go anywhere near Kellie's program!!

…damn nose pickers…

you sure about that?
Howdy! 🤠 👋
Welcome. Sit a spell. Nice dumpster dive to find that receipt.

Edit: Could only stand about a page of that. Was nice to revisit a few opinions, in hindsight, but the future has cleared with reason to look forward with optimism! 🤙🏼

I guess my gut feeling was right! 🧡🙌🏻

Since this thread has somehow resurfaced, I just read the below on a Vol media site and thought I would post it since it is relevant. Barnes current comment on Kim's success this season..
------------------------------------------
“It’s awesome. I mean, from the time that she’s walked on this campus, she’s made a tremendous impact," said Barnes. "I go back a year ago when we started with the Big Orange Caravan that you knew she was confident in what she was doing, her style, she knew that she believed in that. And I look back and I really admire (athletic director) Danny White and his staff for making a hire. I mean, people probably said, who? What? But she got all that quiet real quick.

"But if you knew how hard our women’s team [works] and I watched it all through the summer and fall, I’m not the least bit surprised in what she’s got going. She’s only gonna continue to build on it. And I hope this team continues to go because again, we’ve watched them personal and up close how hard they work every day.

I tend to trust Barnes evaluation of talent.
Honestly, when his time is done here (hopefully via retirement), I hope Danny White takes CRBs thoughts into account on the next Men's coach.

FWIW - I think Caldwell is definitely the right hire for the program right now and am excited to see where things head.

Wonder what the responses would be now that she has almost a whole season under her belt.
One thing I did notice was the number of posters that checked out and haven’t returned. I am grateful you’ve returned to provide a little balance. I imagine there are many lurking, that still pop up following a loss, specifically an especially harrowing loss, to ‘splain it all to the regulars.

Me? I’m on board with the current administration, staff and roster. In that order. I hope they can hang a few more banners over the next decade or two. 😉🤙🏼

I honestly believe we were a couple players away from being a final four team this season. We may still be one with the players we have. In the next season were going to be better if we can stabilize the post position. Spearman and Latham are great they need a couple players to help them. As far as the other positions we already have the players even if some are freshmen.

Three posts stick out within the first few posts. @Majac, #4, selling season tickets, and @creekdipper, #3 and @VOL720, #7, centered to willing to give her a chance.

Strangely, I don’t show up on any of those posts with an upvote. Pretty sure I voted wait and see in the middle of the poll, early on.

I also reviewed each of my posts in the thread. Mostly snark. Imagine that…😉🤙🏼

🤣🤣🤣
There are plenty that would never admit it!
Truth!!!

For me, Coach K made it fun and interesting again. Been awhile since I felt that way.

Can't wait to see her with 2-3 recruiting classes on the floor. Rotating 15 girls, for 90 seconds each group.

Like having three-line shifts in hockey. Lol

This aged well.
That was a wonderfully entertaining series of meltdown posts from a person who was 100% convinced that White had Dawn Staley's signature on the contract line. Next came the bold proclamation that the CKC announcement was either fake or a subterfuge because DW would never make such disasterous hire.

Then the ante got upped even further in a surprisingly scatalogical way.

So the bigger lesson here, and kids pay attention, is never promise to post a video of you eating your own feces if your predication does not prove to be accurate.

Ah, good times...

I sure will. That’s how the cookie crumbles. The blame goes to the person at the top.
I guess you're blaming her for:

getting to the sweet sixteen
setting SEC record for 3's (previously Arkansas 314)
setting NCAA for 3's in a single game (30),
tying the program record for most 100+ points games in a season with the 1987-88 squad
signing the #2 HS recruiting class

it's OK. You can admit you were wrong about her.

A lot of us might be guilty of wanting to much way to fast. There were four players on the roster when she got here. She built this team out of the portal and got them to the sweet sixteen. She then recruited the number two class in the country and replaced five seniors with better players. Looking to see what she does in the portal this will be the most talented Tennessee team in several years with who she has coming in and returning already. If she can add three super players were ready to challenge for it all.
