With Nico only playing 2 games this year they may be looking at a redshirt season for him. No reason to blow that if he is not getting meaningful snaps. He has two games left that he can play in and still keep a redshirt. With his best chance at real playing time being past (besides UConn and possibly Vandy) there is no telling what the plan really is. Would be good to know. lol

I would redshirt Nico and let him get bigger, we have a serviceable backup that knows the plays. Just like how Manning is redshirting we should do the same unless Joe gets hurt.

He won't be redshirted. We'll need him this season before it's all said and done.

You’ll most likely only see him during UConn and Vandy and that’s it barring injury to Joe. Which probably means a redshirt year even though they didn’t have plans for that. But who knows maybe we jump out on one of the SEC teams on the schedule and find ourselves up by at least 20 in the 4th.

I expect A&M and Kentucky to be hard fought games, but either one of them could come into the game sloppy like LSU last year and we could boat race them.

I lie awake at 3am wondering why I’m not getting snaps. I played intramural football for 5 years in college and therefore know all about football. Strangely, UT didn’t use any of my eligibility back then. No matter, everything happens for a reason and I have plenty of eligibility left now! Call me Coach Heup, I’ll be waiting!

You guys are WAY over reacting to a decision that has very little impact and even less meaning. Maybe the calculation is that 3 plays isn't enough to burn one of his games over. He will probably never need a RS but there's no reason to burn it unless it is truly necessary.

Just trust the Heup. This is a coach that took a 3 and 7 team to 11 and 2 in two years. He isn’t perfect by any stretch but he has earned a certain degree of trust undeserved by any of his predecessors of the last couple of decades.
