I really want to go as my last trip over there was for the football debacle in 2022. Need to still exorcize some demons from that experience!

Maybe if I get some work done and Florida beats Bama on Tuesday..
Florida beats Bama on Tuesday.. That is a real possibility. MOF, I'm saying it now. Gators win.

It is quite puzzling. Florida, honestly, should’ve beaten them. They led the majority of the second half, but like you said metrics be damned. I’m just hoping we show up hungry to win a title. We should want payback for how they b**** slapped us in TBA. I’d honestly roll with the Aidoo and Awaka lineup for a lot of the game to match up with Murray Boyle and Mack. Those are the 2 players that concern me the most, because I trust our guards to lock up defensively on their guards. It’ll be another dogfight that’s for sure.
Paris switched to a 1-3-1 zone that befuddled Golden. So Golden calls a time out to tell his kids what to do with this zone. Paris knew it and switched back to man for a while after the TO. Paris can really coach.

Glad he showed that to Barnes as our guy can really coach also and will have our team prepared.

I don’t think it will be that much of a game. If we come to play we win by 15.

Maybe he can really coach but that’s not some genius thing he did. Literally every coach in America has done something like that.

I think all of these metrics are accounting for the fact the SC Jr. has won a ton of close games, against both good and bad competition, and so the metrics expect them to struggle at some point. Only thing is they keep defying metrics, which happens every now and then. So, hard to get a read on that team.
Yes, they have somehow been a season-long statistical anomaly. They continually find the odds against them, yet they continue to find a way to win. It's been weird to see their results vs their expectations. It has helped that they've played about the easiest SEC schedule imaginable. They got to play Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Mississippi St., and us twice. Not their fault, just dumb luck. On the other hand, we've played the most difficult SEC schedule. We had to play Bama, UK, aTm, Mississippi St., and them twice.

Paris has used it many times so nothing new. Thing about this game is everybody knows tendencies now. Going to be a rock fight
I bet we don't see a small ball lineup with Mashack and JJJ masquerading as our post players in the rematch. At least I hope that was a lesson learned in the first matchup. I'd much prefer the exact opposite, with Aidoo and Awaka out there together. We've had some success with that lineup against physical teams, so I'm hoping we try it again.

I also hope that the refs don't call fouls on Mashack when he is simply playing defense. The officiating was horrendous in the last game in K TOWN. I typically don't complain too much about the refs.

Second half for sure. I don't think we can do this more than 20 minutes or so because of foul trouble.

We just didn't show up. Usually when that happens the whistle just doesn't go your way either.

It literally won the fame for them so there is that.
It did win the game for them, but let's not sit here and ignore the piss poor performance from Walter Clayton Jr in handling the ball. He pretty much handed Carolina the ball 3-4 possessions in a row. Very, very careless in the final part of the game.

You are right, it was horrible shooting night for both teams and one of them had to win. It just irked me the way refs were tight with the whistle that game.

I also agree, putting Mashack on Mack wasn't a great decision the first go-around.

Given Mack and Boyles are 6'8, and 6'7, I'm hoping we can at least get Mack in foul trouble in the post between Aidoo and Awaka. Aidoo is going to have to play physical and finish through contact in the post. I think Awaka can hold his own if he doesn't pick up 2 fouls in 5 minutes like he did at Alabama.

Edit: Also didn't realize Mack is listed as 270 lbs, no wonder Mashack was getting pushed around in the first matchup. My goodness.

Yeah, I don't think it will be our primary lineup, at least initially. I think they will try and keep them subbing for each other as long as they possibly can. I just don't think that we'll see the Mashack/JJJ combo in the post against USCe if Aidoo and Awaka are available.
