Tiffany's Thread (updates and prayers, and a place where she can smack Joe in public when he needs it :)

Physical therapy has been in here walking her in the room with a walker. Must've been more done to her body than I understand, or have heard. She's saying she's going to have to go home with a walker for a couple of weeks, no driving, and physical therapy will be coming to the house for a couple of weeks. She keeps saying "this isn't permanent", and makes me wonder if they've not told us something, or it's just her way of knowing she's weak, and trying to encourage her. Hopefully the later.

Seems reasonable to think she is just very weak from the trauma her body went through along with being unable to eat much.

Now there's the smile I've been waiting on. She had a little nap after the walking, but I got her to eat the most she has in days, and drink more ensure. I think all the energy she wanted to smack me with for annoying her about eating, went into this smile 🤣. She couldn't reach me, so she smiled!IMG_20231009_182537707.jpg

I honestly don't have the words right now.

@joevol33 this is why you writing the truth as it's happening is so important. People who only see the "after" would never understand what she fought through, what God brought her through.
I agree. It went from ugly and and a hopeless feeling, to this. I know it's going to take a bit, and she'll likely have some rough days, but goodness what a difference. I'm thankful for her Drs, not leaving them out, but thank you Jesus.

I was wondering how many times she wanted to punch you. In one of the pictures, she had the look of just wait till I can, I'm keeping a list! 😄

I agree, especially after seeing what happened. My mind is just all over the place.

Betcha a nickel it's what they term "deconditioning." It doesn't mean that there's been specific damage to a muscle, bone, joint, etc. - just overall weakness and pooped-outed-ness. The restrictions and PT that they're describing fit perfectly in with that possibility. They'll be helping her get her strength back, balance, all the rest that goes to hell after a long illness or a short, severe illness. This should really help her get back to a better spot!

It isn’t permanent. Sure she’s weak after what her body has been through. Again, it’s not permanent. Let her fight even though it’s not in your nature to just let her. I hated physical therapy, but knew I was going to fight like hell to get back to who I know I am. Love her, support her and let her vent frustration even that’ll be hard on you and the girls. I have two ears if she or you want to vent. Oh, two eyes also buddy.

We haven't really talked about what happened, and she didn't remember much at all. She started talking about it this afternoon, and though I didn't want to go through it in my head again, I kinda knew she needed to do she can get over it emotionally. She told me what she remembered, and wanted me to fill in the gaps. I believe it helped, because it was before that big smile.

When I was ready to leave the hospital after three months my record after a couple of weeks of physical therapy just to stand up was one minute. I seriously asked the therapist if I would ever be able to walk again. Last week in Nashville I carried an eight foot ladder all around a big Dollar General store. Hell no it’s not permanent. When the doctors guided by God heals her permanently she will be running around like a spring chicken.
