Tiffany's Thread (updates and prayers, and a place where she can smack Joe in public when he needs it :)

O Lord, through the passion of the most sacred heart of Jesus, I beseech Thee to heal Tiffany. We thank you for giving her and her family the courage to face the situations so that others may see your perpetual light shining through them, a beacon of strength that overcomes setbacks, and reaffirms your precious love for all. In the name of Jesus Christ, King of Kings, please hear and bless this prayer O Heavenly Father. Amen

@VolNExile , you know anything about this stuff? It's the genetic test they did on her mom to see if she'd be able to take some new pill. Tiffany was just trying to figure it out, but has never seen anything like this. The test may be new, we don't know.

This is new stuff to me, but I think they’re trying to identify the genome (the gene of the tumors), probably to fine-tune the most effective chemo or maybe immunotherapy. *maybe* to look at any risk for her blood relatives, I dunno.

Did they biopsy her lung tumor? (looking at the microphotographs at the top) I’m assuming that’s the source of the test results.

I have no idea what the scores imply. Like the text says, they need to be interpreted by a physician in light of her clinical findings (physical signs and symptoms, labs, radiology, etc.) I hope they’re getting some useful info from this. Medical genetics is a HUGE new field, getting down to DNA/RNA level to learn about the Enemy.

I kinda figured this was newish stuff, because he said the pill was new.

Yeah, the big challenge in cancer treatment is to kill the cancer AND not kill the patient. So they’re matching genetic info (of the tumors) with treatments and survival rates in hopes of going straight to the close-to-perfect treatment.

Dad's oncologist gave him a new pill as part of a "trial" they were doing when he had his first round of lymphoma. He took it for a few months but it made him extremely sick and he asked doc to take him off of it. They treated him from then on with radiation and chemo. Also, his first bout with lymphoma, his doc said his body "lit up like a Christmas tree" after his pet scan. Praying the pill works for your mother-in-law Joe 🙏🏻

Appreciate it. We're not sure they'll do it yet, but they'll find out soon.

Look at this. Tiffany is going through medication, and trashing out of date stuff. Mostly antibiotics, where they'd swap halfway through because it wasn't working. She's just getting started 🤣. There's a few vitamins, and something I had from kidney stones, but dang. We're taking her name off the bottles and putting them in recycling, and I'm going to put this bag in the black trash bag. They're fixing to take her to remove the tubes. Instead of exchanging them, they're going to try to remove them, and put stents. They'll do a test while she's under, and make sure they work. If for some reason they don't, they will take the stents back out, and put tubes back in.

Her mom's Drs have moved her surgery to tomorrow morning at 5:30. They wanted to do a full checkup on her today to make sure she will be able to. Dr told her that the cancer is eating away at some of her bones, so they want to make sure she can handle the surgery. Which confuses me, if it's that bad, why suffer her through it? They told her the radiation is to try and shrink the biggest tumor in her leg for pain control. It's the only place they're even going to try radiation. If her bone is that bad, why try putting a rod. IDK, I admit I know nothing about this.

Well if she wants to try, then why not? My mom has already told us if she gets cancer, no treatment for her, just give her all the chocolate desserts she can eat and photo albums to look at.

True. I think I'd be more like your mom, if it was bad. I know it's easy to say that right now, but I have told Tiffany and the girls to never keep my body alive on a machine if there's no hope.
