The best part of replacing a tub with a shower is that you (generally) get a 5’ shower, meaning room for a shower bench or chair.

We only had room for a 4’ (reclaimed a closet from the room on the other side)

Tiffany's mom is pretty rough the past couple of days. They had to put her back on the bipap thing, can't stand, talk, eat, and her kidneys aren't making any urine for about 24 hours now. They had a cath in her, but pulled it out because they weren't getting anything.

I've thought a few times she wouldn't make it longer, but she's still here. I sincerely think it's close now, her kidneys not working isn't good. I do know the last scan they done, last week sometime, the cancer was in her adrenal glands now. I don't mean to sound the wrong way here, but I'm afraid she's going to code, and he's going to have her brought back as much as possible, and her suffer when she shouldn't have to.

The beginning of the end is often marked by the shutting down of one system after another (urinary/kidneys in this case.) This certainly doesn't mean end-stage for everyone going through this, but for your MIL, it's pretty tough. You never know though, they can always buy some time for a bit.

She's definitely a tough one, that's for sure!

Prayers for a peaceful passing when the time comes, which it does for all of us at some point.

Bad night for her mom. Rapid response team had to be brought in, they even had the chaplain come in to talk with her dad, and oldest sister who stayed last night. She said her dad wouldn't talk to the chaplain, I don't think he'll emotionally recover when she does pass. Tiffany is going to drive down there in a bit.

I updated our Sunday class on Tiffany, and then her mom. I told them her mom wasn't doing good, but I hadn't read this.

I hate to hear she’s not doing good but her husband needs to be told this is now in God’s hands and he doesn’t make mistakes. If it’s her time to go home to be with Jesus he should know she won’t be in pain any more.

I think Tiffany and the oldest sister have talked some sense into her dad. They explained to him what happens if she codes, and how much damage it would do, especially since the tumors have fractured bones already. Her mom wants a DNR, so he's on board with it now. *For now, cause the Florida sister found out, done called Tiffany screaming at her, and is allegedly on her way from Florida. Who knows, she may talk him out of it, but he knows that's what her mom wants. Tiffany has an appointment down the road a bit, and her nurse is spending the night for her treatment, so we're at the hospital now.
