OMG! Memories! My mom is from eastern shore VA, and we had to take that bridge to get to family. Always stopped at the midway point gift shop for ice cream. This is mainly why I wanted to come, to drive underwater in the tunnel . Tiffany and little bit were a little nervous, but they thought it was cool. Bridge is 15.8 miles from one end to the other (according to our odometer), I didn't measure the two parts where you go underwater, but I'd guess a mile and a half each. You go under twice both ways.

If you’re still there this afternoon and have five hours to kill, go check out the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel during rush hour. It’s only about 15 minutes away, but the bridge tunnel traffic will take up your other 4 1/2 hours. You can literally sit under water if you get “lucky”.This is mainly why I wanted to come, to drive underwater in the tunnel . Wish I had known you were going to my second home. Would’ve recommended you eating at Chick’s Oyster Bar. My favorite seafood restaurant. And, as someone who has spent a lot time in the Chesapeake Bay Area, can confirm they have the best crab cakes anywhereWish I'd seen this earlier! We're in chapel hill eating now
I'm pretty sure we drove by that last night driving down tiwards the end of the beach area where we were. There was a chicjs, a waterman, but we ended up eating on the pier. Only because we wanted to try fishing, but wind was too much.Wish I had known you were going to my second home. Would’ve recommended you eating at Chick’s Oyster Bar. My favorite seafood restaurant.
