You thought right, there is a Memphis, Mississippi. It is about 2 maybe 3 miles south of the MS./TN. State line. I pass it on my way to Tunica.
MR7 they just don't know how much fun we have here in the hills of WEST TN. lol:dance2:

The city of Memphis is a cesspool. I would rather gouge my eyes out than pull for Memphis. Get a life.

Because they won a neutral site game against a team that hasn't been playing that well lately? Didn't know that made a premier program, especially with some of the close wins in that rec league you call a conference.

Close wins are the norm in conference play - any conference. Tigers have no control over conference schedule other than winning 50 in a row. Tigers do what no other school has done the last 4 years, not lose to a team that has NO business beating you. If you check the record during this almost 4 year run, the 14 losses look like a whos/who of CBB.

Is it worse to beat UAB by only 4, or to lose to an Auburn team that is worse than UAB by 1?

You play in a Juco conference. The rigorous schedule (albeit the conference is down this year) that the Vols play game in and game out set them up for upsets like that. It happens.

Maybe you guys should change conferences so that you will get more of a challenge...I hear the SOCON is wanting to expand, that would be a step up for you guys.

Memphis is not a very good basketball team either and if you can not tell that then you are blind, Memphis may win one maybe 2 games in the tournament but thats about it. If you shut down Tyreke then you shut down Memphis. If it wasnt for Memphis joke of a conference they would not have the wins they have. What gets me about Memphis fans is they boast about how many wins they have every year and all this BS but they play in a JV league conference, if they played in a big boy conference it would be different. By the way nobody cares around here we have other sports for us to follow unlike Memphis who thinks about basketball 365 days a year because the football team is a laughing stock of the state. How lame is it that you had to start your own thread to talk about it we were not talking about and would not have if you would not have trolled over here.

The RPI, AP, ESPN/Coaches beg to differ. You obviously know very little about CBB. Tigers offense is starting to click. Their defense, rebounding, and toughness keep them in every game.

The JV conference they play in is tougher than you think. Tigers make them look worse than a few teams really are. UAB and Houston are good enough to compete for the SEC title this year.

What about all the OOC wins? UCLA, Georgetown, Texas, Mich. St., Arizona, etc.etc.etc. (too many to list). Guess those don't count.

First chance Memphis has to leave CUSA, they will be gone. Wheels are in motion for the next conference shake up. I would gladly take 4-5 more losses a year in BB to get some of the dough from being in a BCS Conference.

Your Tyreke argument is weak. The only thing that can stop Tyreke is Tyreke getting in foul trouble.

Offense starting to click? I guess our incredible densive prowess is what held you down a couple weeks ago. Who knew, especially after Auburn embarrassed us yesterday on D?

Comparing this team to those 3 is foolisness.

Offensively this team is not as good. I believe they are better defensively on the perimeter. Tyreke is a better defender, bigger, and stronger than Rose. All other pieces are pretty much the same defensively, except for having the intimidation of Dorsey in the middle.

That being said, I'd gladly take CDR back if possible.

No its not, your just not playing anybody. How in the world can you not score more than 54 on Tennessee, one of the worst defensive teams in the country, one person scored 54 on Tennessee so your arguement is weak. You play in a very weak conference, face it you just do it. Houston and UAB could compete with some teams for 4-9 place in teh SEC. Memphis is going to have a hard time getting into a big time conference because your football team, stadium, fans and everything related to football is a JOKE. You would be the laughing stock of whatever conference you played in. Memphis does not travel well you dont even travel to your home football games much less on the road. The Liberty Bowl is a dump, nobody wants to play there. No my Tyreke argument is not weak, you stop Tyreke you stop Memphis, nobody else is capable of scoring 20-30 points every night.

That was the Vols best defensive game of the year. It was more a wrestling match than BB game.

Also, Cal wanted to slow the game down. He didn't think the Vols could win a half court game. Tigers rarely pressed so that Vols couldn't get easy buckets or run outs.

If Memphis is so good then why in the world was Tennessee hanging around with them, I will go out on a limb and say Tennessee should have won that game they outplayed Tiger High.

Cal slowed the game down because he believed Vols were incapable of winning a half court game. Guess he was right. Doesn't matter if you score 38, 54, or 104. A win, is a win. They don't ask how, just how many.

Before UAB's grade problems, they were a lock for the NCAA tourney. They have 2 legit pros on their team. Just thin on bench now with 6 scholarship players.

The next conference shake up, I guarantee you Memphis find itself in a BCS conference. Money talks.

You get the point bub............last year some tigers took two weeks off work. They were mental basket cases. Some still have a mental disorder. Thanks Mario

Football program too weak for BCS.
