Heupel offers update on Cedric Tillman injury

“Cedric did have surgery,” Heupel confirmed. “He did that — had an opportunity to speed up the recovery process. We’ll see where he’s at. He was limited (during Monday’s practice) but moving around a little bit today. We’ll continue to see how it unfolds this week and see where we’re at.”

We can win this game without him. Yes, it would help a lot to have him on the field but it would hurt a lot worse for him to suit up and re-injure it again.
Just like the Florida game, we shouldn't need him in the sense of "if he doesn't play we lose". If that was the case we have major issues.
LSU defense is better than Florida's tho, so it's more about Hooker continuing to deliver and WRs making catches. If either of those don't happen, they lose and Tillman wouldn't change the game.
Tillman playing could be the difference in beating Bama or Georgia but I just don't see him being the difference Sat.

100% AGREE - I am also hesitant for him to attempt to play against UT-Martin as well unless it's late in the game to shake off some "rust".

That would put him into returning for Bama. I would be okay with him not playing that one as well if it means we get a better shot at UGA.

Glad he is making progress but his long term future and our full picture of season is best if he not doesn't play Saturday but also doesn't travel with team. Air plane travel affects some injuries. I am not sure how I feel about the Bama week.
There was a time... recently... where no one on this board could make that statement without feeling queasy. Now... I think most of us believe that UT has the depth at receiver to compensate.

Maybe.

Our passing game is still humming without him.

It's our defense against Bama that will be the real test.
Yes, and unlike the old deodorant commercial with Chuck Norris, in this case our best defense IS to offend. We probably need at least 48 points to win, if not more. We need Tillman and also turnovers

Or another unexpected receiver. Love it how our depth at WR keeps opposing DCs guessing where the next haymaker is coming from.

Heup was brilliant in his use of Hyatt against Florida. He was basically used as a decoy while Hooker dropped bombs to the other guys.

Amazing what they've done on O. You can't focus on any one WR no matter who is out there. UF took a nap on 80 a couple of times and he hurt them. I still wish they would play a few more WR's but understand how hard that is if you don't want to sub between plays.
