Tillman Update

100% AGREE - I am also hesitant for him to attempt to play against UT-Martin as well unless it's late in the game to shake off some "rust".

That would put him into returning for Bama. I would be okay with him not playing that one as well if it means we get a better shot at UGA.
We play bama before utm brother

How do you expect to keep LSU's edge guys out of UT's backfield? Those dudes are legit.

They may be legit but our entire offense is predicated on getting rid of the ball relatively quickly and not allowing the defense time to get set or substitute lineman. They will be tired by the 3rd quarter IF Tennessee can sustain their drives. If they can't then it will be a very quick loss because LSU will just bleed the clock.

We can win this game without him. Yes, it would help a lot to have him on the field but it would hurt a lot worse for him to suit up and re-injure it again.

Well yes.....but it didn't have to be that way. UT could have still beat Akron by 50+ points with 2nd / 3rd team and Tillman would have on the sideline enjoying the stadium experience over a jug of Gatorade. Not the smartest coaching move considering the tough schedule ahead.

DANG - it's been a second Monday here Soddy !!!
Straight looked at the calendar, had the thought in my head...typed something completely different...HAHAHAA

What I meant was return for Kentucky and would be okay with him sitting it out if it gives a better chance against UGA.

3 different 100 yard receivers in 3 games… (Ball State is the odd one out, but that’s not surprising considering 10 diff guys got the ball).

Tillman can come in on short yardage, red zone settings and rest otherwise.

Glad he is making progress but his long term future and our full picture of season is best if he not doesn't play Saturday but also doesn't travel with team. Air plane travel affects some injuries. I am not sure how I feel about the Bama week.

Rest him until he’s absolutely 100%. He has too bright a future to put it at risk coming back too soon.

I'll be somewhat surprised if he returns by Bama game. Wouldn't play him much for UT Martin, just a few reps to get back into the game and then be ready for KY.

Yep, hold him out until the Bama game, to make sure he's fully healed. If he isn't quite ready for bama, let him sit. I'd much rather have him for the last half of the Season rather than lose him for the entire season after week 2 because we rushed him back too soon!

Not to ruin your hopes... but you do realize that 7 of their 13 sacks came against New Mexico and Southern, right? Southern is FCS. New Mexico is 113th in the country in sacks allowed. Ojulari is in fact a really good player. But he can be blocked. For what little it is worth, Pitt is 11th in the nation in sacks. This isn't the first time UT has faced a team that knows how to rush the passer.

A friend close to the ahtletic department said no way Tillman will be ready. He has always been spot on. I hope he doesn't play just rest and come back against Alabama.

Tillman is valuable no doubt but we have solid receivers that are playing very well. Keaton, Hyatt and McCoy can get it done! If Tillman plays vs Bama it will give fans and players a big confidence boost.

I think playing a game against a solid opponent was good for players like Bru and Keyton. They now are ready to step up and do it again this week.

Hopefully Tillman comes back against Bama and we have our full arsenal, plus we have Keyton and Bru ready to still contribute in case Tillman can only play limited snaps.

I think its time for Hyatt to have a big time SEC game. LSU is as soft as wet sh1t paper in the middle of the field. 😅

Yeah, I can see us having a lot of opportunities back there. IF we can handle the attack up front.
