Tim Irwin not a happy camper

OM didn't blitz much at all. They took advantage of being at home and UGA being forced to go on silent snaps as well as UGA's LT being hobbled. (he was held out vs UT) UGA changed the cadence and forced UT's front to hold their water which gave the OL and extra beat to get on their blocks.
Coaching?? Hmmmmm.

I would agree with him 100%. Blueprint to beating Georgia was pressuring Beck and we didn’t. After the second quarter and we saw we weren’t getting pressure with the down 4 we should have been blitzing. But we didn’t.
The one game of the year where all we needed was Banks to continue having his D do what they'd done all season to that point, and we drop the ball. Can't tell me the UGA line got that dang good from Ole Miss to Saturday night that our D line and edges could not do one single play against them. And their head case interception machine just magically had all the time in the world to right himself. Their team was injury depleted in key positions more than enough to get beat and we didn't make use of it.

Played a little too much Prevent Defense the other night. We prevented ourselves from winning by being conservative.

Would have given them 7 more points.
Maybe but I would rather go out swinging. I thought we could have been a little more aggressive in our play calling all game too. I get it about leaning on our defense. They had been on the field a bunch also iIr waa a weird game to watch. Not a lot of flow to it

I'm so glad his kids have moved on to critiquing football. I can't imagine anyone passing away like he did. A sting ray for crying out loud. I loved Irwin's animal shows. Crikey.

Correct, we should have someone like Paul Bain weigh in since he was on a roster that made a bowl game.

Tim, a member of the Minnesota Vikings 40th anniversary team has no clue what's going on.
I don’t think he’s saying Irwin doesn’t know what he talking about….. my interpretation was that Irwin can say whatever he wants, but F him anyway because the Vols weren’t that good when he was playing. Maybe I’m wrong

There are decision which can be made that have a large percentage of being beneficial and those which have a low percentage of being successful. Going for it at that time and distance is not a wise decision. One becomes a loser by making bad decisions.

The Dlines lack of pressure was because BoBo got it out of Beck's hands super quickly. I wish we could have made an adjustment to stop that but...we didnt have the answer
While they did get it out quick several times, he had 5-6 or seconds at times.
The lack of pressure was because the UGA OL was winning one on one battles all night

F Tim Irwin. We couldn't hardly make a bowl game when he played
You still holding on to a harsh sentence handed down by the Judge to you when you were a teen?

I always enjoy his take on the games. He's very fair and balanced in his assessment of the Vols. He loves the Vols, has more invested in the program than any of us and he knows the game better than anyone on this board.

No, I certainly overreacted yhough. I don't mind criticism. I suppose I should have listened to it. I just focused on the "ripping" comment in the OP
