Tim Tebow Gets Told By a Player

The first time he's sacked in the NFL (that is IF he even makes it that far), the sacker needs to give him a personalized Austin 3:16 speech.

"The first thing I want to have done is to get that piece of crap off my field. Just don't get him off the field, get him out of the NFL. You sit there, and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere. Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16. Freeney 3:16 says I just whipped your @$$."

I thought 316 was the number of injuries Freeney has in a season.

Pretty sure that the Wonderlic is more about quick decision-making ability than raw intelligence, so studying isn't going to help a whole lot.

Tebow is genuine, and that pisses off a certain demographic of the American population. When he says and does the stuff he does, a lot of people are uncomfortable with it because it makes these people acutely aware of what they are not. The dude is a freak of nature... A big, country strong, blazing fast white quarterback with an unwavering faith. He talks the talk AND he walks the walk. Most of us would be satisfied with just having one of his traits, but his excellence (for lack of a better word) magnifies our lack thereof...so some people despise him.

The following question isn't directed at the poster to which I responded, but to the readers in general.

What does it say about YOU when you actually commit brain cells and emotions to disliking and hating a guy like this?

My problem with Tebow(besides owning us every year) is his constant reminder of faith. It's not the faith that bothers me, it's the fact that he feels the need to seize every opportunity to discuss it. I relate him to a used car salesman trying to convince someone to buy a lemon. As a football player though I dont know if one can get more competative and talented.

Not sure.

But here is a number I am sure of: Freeney had 13.5 sacks last year. Which is probably more than the number of touchdowns that Tebow will throw for in his whole NFL career.

Amen.

the love of God, is intended to be shared, in the Christian religion. how is it possibly arrogant to lead a simple prayer? its a prayer. nothing more. the sad truth is that everybody in that room will probably be saying a prayer when they tear their ACL or when they get cut from a team, and are scared to death they wont get picked up by another team. the guy that said that, or anyone else there, didnt have to participate in the prayer, but making a statement like that really reflects a lack of character.

OK what if a Jewish guy wanted to lead a prayer with a bunch of Christians? Or a Muslim?

Ones religion is a PRIVATE matter. I am glad Tebow has found satisfaction with his faith but it is HIS business. It is NOT his business to act like a preacher leading his congregation.
It WAS arrogant because he doesn't know the PRIVATE religious opinions of the others in the group.

I am a supporter of prayer in school but from this simple discussion I can now see why some oppose it now.

I respect Tebow. But if your willing to pray about you and everyone before taking a test then you need to say it to yourself.

Bout time. Listen, I'm definitely a Christian and all, but those are MY beliefs and I don't respect those that feel an urge to press them upon anyone. Especially before a test that nobody wants to take.

Quit wasting my time, fool.

Hahaha. Welcome to a world outside of Florida. I'm not hating on the guy for praying before a test. But I think it's funny that he thought he could just automatically become the leader of the combine invitees. This doesn't bode well for his locker room presence in the NFL. You have to earn it first, Timmy!

Hope CUM doesnt get his hands on the guy who said that.

Judging by his score he shouldve either
1 prayed a little harder or
2 study more, pray less

If it were Dan Williams, Hardesty, or Berry they should be given a statue

I'm not a Tebow fan, but it is kind of refreshing to me to see a possible future NFL player wanting to pray before a big event for him.

You hear so many stories about these guys getting in trouble for drugs, having kids out of wedlock etc, being irresponsible. It's kind of a nice change to me.

Exactly, as if the world would be a worse place with more Tim Tebow's walking around...

Ray Lewis isn't afraid to express his faith, so let's wait for the first time he slams Tebow into the turf and see if they have a prayer meeting while Tebow is breathing through an earhole.
