Tim Tebow is far from the perfect passer.

If you measure a great passer by form alone, then perhaps not. Matt Stafford has incredible throwing motion and strong arm and yet threw far more interceptions and wasn't as accurate nor as successful as Tebow.

I think it's already been proven Tim Tebow is a great passer with an imperfect form. His passer rating, accuracy and everything he has done in college thus far bears this out. Consider him the Jim Furyk of college QB's.

It remains to be seen whether or not he will make it as a QB in the NFL. Gator fans do not need Tebow to be a big NFL star for validation (see UT fans & Manning). He has been the one of the best College quaterbacks ever and that is irrefutable.

LOL at you infering Tebow is a better passer than Stafford.

Tebow isn't a perfect passer, but he will get his chance to throw in the NFL. Craig Krenzel did for crying out loud.

You have a crystal ball or are you speaking from experience?
Speaking from experience, I can tell you. The Swamp was quite on that day nonetheless. However, I think Ole Miss will disappoint slightly b/c of their tough conference schedule, and I do think UT has a great chance against them if you can score 3 or more TD's. TN finds any O this year, they will do better than expected.

I think you will see Meyer & Co. giving Tebow more chances to prove himself a "purer" passer this year. They know that's what the pro scouts want to see and there should be plenty of opportunity this year for the Gators to give Tebow that chance to impress.

If he takes advantage and proves he can wing it 30-40 yards with some accuracy, his status will obviously rise. Absent that, and let's say he just continues to do what he has been doing, his most likely landing spot is with the Jags, the Bucs, or the Dolphins. The Jags in particular have seemed more willing than most to take advantage of the inherent sale-ability of drafing Gator players.

As of right now, if I'm honest about it, I'd say Tebow will get a chance to be a QB in the NFL, but so far he is not showing quite the right skill set to translate into that game. He might. But not seen it, yet.

He was just about perfect when he needed to be against us in the SECCG.

Give the guy his due credit. IMO, he is the best CFB player.... ever!

Tebow is nothing more than an over-glorified, circumiser of poor kids, "thou art holier than though", more athletic version of Arky's former QB Matt Jones. (What position did he play in NFL?)

There is some truth to this. Go to youtube and look up Florida spring practices. They are installing offensive schemes where Tebow lines up under center and does 3 and 5 step drops...and actually hands off to a real running back. His throwing motion still looks pretty goofy, but it does look significantly different.

That being said, I would bet my bottom dollar they only go to this package when the game is already decided and against lesser opponents. Florida will still run its gimmick offense in big games and Tebow will shine in his "passing fullback" role.

Cool.

• Tebow's staggering 67-to-11 touchdown-to-interception ratio is far better than anyone else's on the list. Tebow's ratio works out to 6.10-to-1. His closest competition: USC's Leinart at 4.3-to-1.

I know stats don't count for anything on volnation unless they support a UT position, but just sayin...

Alex Smith total career passing stats with Urban Cryer:

389/587 5203 yds 47 TD 8 INT
286 rush attempts 1072 yds 15 TD's

47/8 TD/INT ratio comes to 5.875 to 1.

How has Alex Smith fared in the NFL?

Excellent point. Whenever the pundits start their love fest for Tebow, I think of Smith and what a major flop he is.

Tewbow will get exposed this year without harvin, when he dosent just get to throw the ball down the field on go routes, and has to throw the 15 yard out etc... this season, he will prove to be about as accurate as an intoxicated gator fan trying to urinate in a budweiser bottle. and he does have some of the worst mechanics ive ever seen from a QB

on the upside, he is a physical specimen, i think voldad is underestimating his arm a little, it just couldnt hit water if it fell out of a boat, and he plays in a perfect system. but hes is no way the best QB ever in college, maybe top 5 athleate.

You obviously have not watched any Florida football games. Take a look at this video of the SEC championship game against Alabama. Take note of the passes Tebow throws at :53, 1:34, 1:50, 2:19, 3:04, 3:19, and 3:22. Harvin didn't even play in this game and Timmy made these throws against an excellent Bama defense.

Really? That's your theory of why Tebow is good at passing? Then Brian Johnson from Utah must be amazing!

336yds 65.9% 8.2ypa 3tds 0int against Bama.

Oh look... he didn't have Percy Harvin either... or Louis Murphy... or any other wide receiver as talented as Florida's.
