A return kickoff by the Univ of Memphis in which the returner was down (knee) but the officials didn't call it. That play prevented UT from winning and IMHO, kept Manning from receiving a Heisman b/c of that loss.
I would change that one play.
Actually, it was Kevin Cobb's forearm that touched the ground - the officials didn't know the rule and let him keep running....That may have also been the worst game of Manning's college career. He threw a pick in the end zone and another one that set up a Memphis TD.
A close second would have been the Second Half in Gainsville back in 95. If not for that epic implosion we would have been facing Nebraska in the NC game IMO.
I overlooked the time requirement! I'm still counting it LOL :victory:
Well, if this guy can ignore the rule than so shall I! My first time seeing a game in Neyland, 2001 Georgia game. Stephens scores on a 62 pass from Clausen to put us back up, and the crowd just went bonkers. Freshmen David Greene led UGA to a score as time ticked away, and the crowd went from elated to crushed.
Not as impactful a loss probably as LSU in the SECCG later that year, but being in the stadium I'll never forget how painful that one was.
