I think that was the classic trap game. Players weren't in it after they got a big lead, fans weren't into it. Remember even Sabam lost to la tech/Monroe his first season... Not saying we're good by any means but I still think this team could fight for 6 wins

Solid post by the OP.

Interesting thought after today for me. While our talent level and depth doesnt stack up against the top half of the SEC, shouldnt we out talent South Alabama by a wide margin.

If this is the "best staff in America", we are in serious trouble. I see very little improvement in technique and pathetic play calling on both sides of the ball. Their schemes are as plain and uninspiring as any I have seen in recent memory.

Whatever, you can't have a great scheme to over come poor players. We are what we are. A mid level div 2 team

I in no way endorse the "best staff" label but even if they were, the best staff can only do so much with an inferior roster.

It's just hard for me to understand you guys that are already talking about the coaching staff........ Really. Understand you can talk about "coaching up" all you want but you cannot make someone have talent that doesn't have it. You can't make someone magically have speed. At some point the players have to make plays and execute what the coaches call. I'm not trying to defend a coach or put down the players, I'm saying we lack talent, we lack speed and we lack depth. Add to that a pitiful QB, and it is what it is right now.

Once again with even a caretaker at QB we win this game easily. No D coordinator has to respect our QB which makes their job much easier. I think JW is a great kid and I am sure he is doing the best he can. Either you got it or you don't.
