his attempt at being the Savior of the South in the face of last week's destruction.

Pretty sad testament of you that you would mention this. I live near apison, tn and if saw the devastation you would be applauding anyone trying to help those in need. Some times Tennessee sports isn't everything and right now is one of those times. Plus nothing is going on right now for him to tweet about. Hopefully you will never need people like Rucker to tweet about How people can help you after a devastating event

Your right. But the main point is Rucker use to tweet about UT news all the time. Now or since he changed jobs he wants you to pay for TN news. Even his radio show is about mainly trivia crap. premium. God Bless the Storm victims. My family and I give to the United Way and the Red Cross. But I didn't need a sports journalist to tell me to.

Someone call ESPN and tell them to drop the Bin Laden headline.

And we'd better call Martin and have him go ahead and bag up oUTlive. We don't need to mix sports and charity.

Let me know the next time Rucker mixes sports ( except Cubs or soccer sh!t) in his tweets. Your comparing Big Oranges to little apples. But keep following him. Who stopping you?:whistling:

I really just don't see the big deal with skipping over a tweet or two about the Cubs or whatever. I mean, we all _____ bricks when a coach posts something. Just today, Martin tweeted that he was at lunch with his daughter.

According to the logic here, that's wholly unacceptable.

To me, it's just Twitter. Guys are treating it like a breakup with their wives of 10 years.

The neat thing about Twitter is it's not like my wife. I can control the content and make it shut up when I want it to.

I unfollowed after he started clamoring for Obama to come out with Bin Laden's head on a stick.

You're right, I haven't seen any of the affected areas. The friends I have in the Birmingham area dropped the ball on that one and didn't even mention the next neighborhood over from them that was wiped off the map.

A million and a half times, no less. It's great that he's a charitable fellow, and that he doesn't mind reminding you that he is.

I've never followed anyone on Twitter because I have a life and real friends.

Haha! I think Twitter kinda sucks. I have one, but I just use it to follow athletes. I've never tweeted and I don't intend to. My Facebook statuses get to way more people and it's so much easier and more functional. Twitter is just ripping off Facebook and it offers only a fraction of what Facebook can do.

Different uses IMO.

I'm not big in the social networking scene. The last thing I want is all those people I used to hang out with 15 years ago happy to see me when I could care less...

Me either. I don't get it. Facebook probably has some legitimate use, I've not found it, but its really just the typical herd mentality, the "everybody else has one" thinking. Twitter can probably be useful if it was used as a news breaking source, but its primarily for losers trying to live with celebrities through their mindless comments.

Twitter is very useful as far as finding out news about whatever you want to know about. I don't ever post which is probably what most of you think of when you hear twitter, for me its not "I'm going to the store or out with friends." You can search topics you want to know the latest news about. I used it when I lost power during the tornadoes to see when they were going to be the closest to my house so I could take cover. I think most of you just don't know how to use it and that why you say its not for you. For me twitter and facebook are too very different things. facebook is keeping up with friends and twitter is for news.

I've found that Facebook is easily the best place to connect with people minus actually living with the person you're trying to connect with or using a phone. I've had classes use it for discussion too. It's the easiest way to keep up with all my friends outside of Knoxville too. I guess it just depends on how you use it.
