Really wish he would have stayed. He made the best decision from a career perspective, but the amount of OT's being taken right now has got to be sickening to him. I think the upside of Tiny is better than most being taken.
Nah, I'm just an average Joe who uses his eyes.
Humble too!I didn't read many projections in December that had him being available late 3rd rd. Even so, injuries are a risk and if I guy can go top 3 rounds and his family is on tough spot, can't fault him. Clearly he could have come back and possibly helped his stock, but it goes the other way too. Ask Aaron Murray for example.
Almost every projection had him 3rd round, going to Miami mostly. Might have been different in preseason, but after the Christmas no one said 1st 2 rounds.
Surgery has advanced like crazy nowadays.
Still a risk. Huge guy with bum knee. His career, his knee, his call. Think about it, he would have been higher pick last draft, which proves he could have slipped again. No sure thing. He made call first week in Dec and thought he could help his stock. Makes sense to me.
Yeah, starting to think there is something we dont know. I for one didn't see this kind of slide. I saw early 3rd worst case.CyKo got knocked out of the 1st with health issues but he's been drafted. Either he's way more hurt than we know (and when/how did that happen?) or there's a bit more to it. Sometimes the NFL frowns on underclassmen jumping too soon.
I don't know what's going on but a player being seen as worrying about possible injury can be read by scouts/teams one of two ways: 1. smart decision protecting yourself/going to the draft 2. oh you're selfish/don't care about your team and there's not a whole lot one can do about it.
What I would worry about as a scout is if it's indeed injury why should I spend money in an injured player when I can grab one without health issues. If I need an OT/OG now why should I pay you to sit/heal?
