Tiny and all the OT's in the draft...

still think that Tiny didn't attend class at all last semester and probably couldn't have been on the team regardless

I have to think it's an injury. Even if he's not seen as a LT, he did enough in his career to show he could be an above average RT in the NFL. An unknown injury issue or an unknown failed drug test are the only two things that make sense to me. I honestly saw him as a late second/third round pick. Real head scratcher IMO.

Any reason for thinking that? Not going to class would definitely be a knock in the maturity/professionalism department and o-linemen are expected to be more mature and intelligent than a lot of other position groups. But why would he do that to his team, especially knowing there's no room for error with our APR and that his actions could effect his team's post-season eligibility given NCAA rules about APR? (And if he did do that - it's certainly a question I'd ask him in the interview portion if I were a scout.)

It's hard to think of him doing that though.

If you KNOW that you are going to the draft, going to class becomes almost useless. You spend all your time working to get better. Most basketball 1-and-dones do that.

I thought the bottom of the third was the floor. I'd heard he'd tumbled to around the 3rd but figured he might squeeze into the bottom of the 2nd top of the 3rd. Pretty much everybody that failed the combine drug test is known so I don't think it's that.

I'm honestly surprised to have seen him tumble this far.

Something must have come up that isn't public knowledge. Bad knees or something to that effect. Hate it for the guy, has a lot of talent.

Maybe we're homers and he actually sucks?!?!

VN is full of homers but when it comes to talking about individual players you'll find more people finding fault than being homers. We're harder on our own players 90 percent of outsiders.

I read that he flunked his medical at the combine, presumable because of his knee. If true, that is surely the reason he's fallen. Teams are not to going to invest heavily in a tackle with a bad knee.

He lost a couple battles to Clowney this year but the entire OL gave up only 15 sacks in 12 games and averaged 188ypg (good for #44 in the country... ahead of many teams that would surprise you)

On paper Tiny was perfectly fine. Consistently gave up fewer sacks than many OTs taken ahead of him. Something unfortunate had to come up to severely hit his stock.

I've heard it may be knees which would obliterate an OT's value. Some guy's joints just don't uphold the stress of a College weightlifting program and stresses of the season... much less an NFL one.

I always did think James was criminally underrated though. I would think Richardson and Fulton go in the 4th-5th.

No kidding. Tiny got a ton of flack this season. He deserved some of it.

Wasn't there a rumor that Tiny would have to sit out his rookie year due to his knee? If true that would definitely explain his fall.

49ers took a kid out of Clemson for the exact reason with the 100th pick. Jesse Williams, Alabama NT 2 years ago was a 5th rounder last year and had surgery before the season and sat out the whole year so it does happen. He'll get drafted and may be forced to get clean up surgery on his knee and be a backup this year.

It's not medical. He just had a horrible combine. He should if stayed. His knees are ok or it WOULD be public. He underachieved at combine that is all

Tiny admitted he played at 60% last year and all kinds of reports came out that teams feel he will have to sit his rookie year after examinations were done. Tiny claimed to be 100% at UTs pro day and he struggled there. Mentally and physically I don't think Tiny is 100%. Bad combo when teams looking to spend some dough on you.

Really wish he would have stayed. He made the best decision from a career perspective, but the amount of OT's being taken right now has got to be sickening to him. I think the upside of Tiny is better than most being taken.

He will end up with the Carolina Panthers....in a later round.

Microfracture is not a 100% cure for a large cartilage defect. Ask Greg Oden. His performance issues are clearly medical, and most teams know better than to take a risk early in the draft. Sadly, his career may be derailed by his knee.

This isn't true at all. Having guys leave in poor academic standing is a good way to get banned from the postseason like UConn did.
