I am not an NFL talent scout, but IMO, he's not helped his draft stock. He has the physical skills. That's been known since last year. Where he took a hit this year was showing mental discipline. Anyone who doesn't believe teams look at this would be mistaken. I can't say how much it would factor into their decision on when to take him, but I can't believe it wouldn't cause some drop. If he goes, my guess is he's a second day pick. I highly doubt he's first round after this year. But if his family needs the money, then he should go. Even a second day pick makes good money and he has the potential to make more in his second contract.
No matter what decision Tiny makes, best of luck to him. He's a beast waiting to be coached up, IMO, and I appreciate his time as a Vol. I hope he keeps ties with the Vols no matter what road he chooses.
I'd just as soon hope he moves on. He ain't nearly as good as his reputation, plus I'm tired of watching him kill drives with penalties.
We can only hope, but I suspect he is gone. He probably is the type of person who will talk as if he is part of the team until the day he decides/announces he's entering the draft though.
Even if you're a top ten pick, your BIG money is in your second contract...every year counts...he's gone

What? If you don't think we could benefit from having a mammoth OT (who could possibly be a late 1st to 2nd Rd NFL draft pick) return for his senior season, you are out of you damn mind. :crazy:Tiny, your draft stock will never be higher. Please go play on Sundays.

Words can't describe how much I love this team and these seniors. Glad we sent them out right now it's time for team #118 to prepare!
Is he going to be a part of team #118? Tweet seems promising.
Negative. There is a HUGE difference in salary from a Top 10 pick to a late 1st or 2nd Rd'er. Plus, rookie contracts are usually 4-5yrs in length...so you WANT to make sure you get as much as you can as a rookie, cause it's going to be a long while before you start talking about a 2nd contract.Even if you're a top ten pick, your BIG money is in your second contract...every year counts...he's gone

Perhaps it's the alcohol talking but I hope he and AJ both leave for the NFL. I'm so tired of sucking that I just want our roster to receive as large of an "enema" as possible so we can start bringing in more talented players who fit CBJ's system better. The sooner we do that, the sooner we'll start winning IMO.

Staying one more year, to polish up his game and likely a Top 5-10 spot, will mean a difference in MILLIONS of dollars. If the team gets back on the winning track and is in the thick of the SEC East race next year, then his stock will jump significantly, all by itself.
I've followed the draft closely for years and I know how NFL teams tend to look at players from winning teams MUCH more favorably than those that come from losing teams. So, again....if he returns, polishes up his game, and if the Vols can return to their winning tradition, then he will be one of the first 2 OT's taking in the draft. And they are typically taken first in the draft, behind only franchise level QB's.
So your signing bonuses is where you make a brunt of the money anotherwards. The upfront money is the money u for sure see. Everything else, there is a good chance you won't see, especially the later the pick. As far as tiny goes, he should leave. Football is crazy. He could get injured next year and you never wanna risk that. He will play multiple years in the NFL and be set for life as long as he is smart with it.You make your money in bonuses. You never see all the money your suppose to see. There is more than what meets the eye. A lot of if's and should you's in the contract. So at the end of the day, if your a top ten pick, your set for life, if your not, you must absolutely be smart with your money (although all players need to be smart with anything they make.)
