The committee chose who they thought the best 4 teams are. When FSU plays Georgia in the Peach Bowl all these whiners we see why. Georgia 42 - FSU 13. Already excited about the Vols upcoming season. 12 team play off, 6 SEC teams or more in the 12, we will dominate this scenario for a long time.

IDK. I got a feeling Georgia players and fans may not be motivated for this game. FSU should be. They have something to prove.

I think it will be close

Dumb. It’s got nothing to do with the best teams. If so, UGA should be in. How ever much UGA beats FSU by means absolutely nothing. Bottom line is FSU got screwed big time.

If the exact same scenario would have happened to us, you would be outraged. What the CFP playoff committee did was almost criminal.

I could see 3 or 4 SEC teams in the playoffs. 6 seems a bit too high.

Neither team in this game is going to care about this game because they both think they got robbed. FSU has a legit grip, more than anyone before since the CFP. I know folks are getting tired of it but imagine if it had been us? There would be a million threads.

If I had to chose, I'd say FSU would be more motivcated than Georgia. UGA was going for a 3-peat, FSU hasn't been in the NC picture in almost 10 years.

But I think anyone trying to "prove" anything by this game is kinda silly. It's not the same scenario, apples and oranges.

Combination of best teams, most deserving teams, and a little SEC bias.

What would have been interesting is who is the 4th team if Georgia had won the SEC championship?

I think FSU would have gotten in with that scenario. With the Georgia loss, the committee wanted Bama in and it was hard to justify leaving out Texas since they beat Bama and also won their conference.

If Georgia were to have beaten Bama, I think they put FSU in ahead of Texas in that scenario, but I guess we'll never know.

I think it rubbed me and a lot of Vols fans on here wrong because it is just more evidence of the favoritism that Alabama receives which is what helps them win 16 straight over Tennessee and get more National Titles.

Granted, Alabama probably doesn't get the level of favoritism we discuss but it is still frustrating. I feel like other teams put exactly in Alabama's position with its players, resume, etc. would have been left out because they are not named Alabama.

I don’t think any 1 loss team that beats the #1 undefeated, back to back national champions, winners of 29 straight games, on the last weekend of the year is getting left out of the CFP. You throw in Bama’s excellence equity over the years, combined with having the greatest coach in college football history, you’re getting in. I have zero problem w/ that.

Michigan is whining about it as much as FSU, which should tell the logical person that they made the right decision.

Other teams absolutely are getting left out in favor of an undefeated conference champion. You are kidding yourself if you don't think this was just getting Alabama in.

The final 4 this year is a combination of deserving and best. The fact is this is the first time an undefeated conference champion has been left out. When there is a departure from what's been done over the last 10 years and the final 4 were chosen based on inconsistent criteria it is the very definition of bias.

I’m not saying the criteria is correct . The whole thing is broken from the get go when you only allow 4 spots and there are 5 Power conferences. It’s amazing this hasn’t happened previously. I don’t think there is a precedent here.

It's because they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into a playoff and because it's FBS football they just have to half-ass everything. They end up doing something that is kinda llike what people wanted but not nearly good enough.

Exactly. It’s been The Rose Bowl and all of these bowl executives holding things up for decades and decades. People on here bitch about $$ all the time and how it’s corrupted the game. These guys lining their pockets to be on Bowl committees and going on luxury vacations were the ones that started it all. Every single team sport, including every level of football from pee wee to the NFL has a real playoff format, yet Division 1 football has to dance around when they can play certain games so that it doesn’t interfere with a stupid parade’s schedule. Even with the the 12 team playoff we’re still quarterfinal games at bowl sites. That’s absurd.
