You really believe they picked the 4 best teams. Come the f on. My little sister woulda told you Bama had no business being in over FSU.

We have 0 clue who is the 4 BEST teams. It is literally the dumbest argument ever unless the teams play each other.

SEC Shorts called it like it was, 2014 Ohio State was missing their starting QB and was not considered as one of the "best" but made playoffs and won it all.

If we want to use that stupid BEST team argument, we might as well just look at the recruiting classes and preseason ranking and award a championship that way and not have a season.

Bingo, they’ve always (as they should ) picked the most deserving. But they had to say “best” this year to justify having an SEC team. But that argument doesn’t work because why the hell is UGA number 6 and FSU number 5? Lmao come on now. It’s all a ploy for money and entertainment

Yes it is and thats why I don't get the anger. We all know or should know that CFB is all about the money so why is everyone so mad.

Because it’s gonna make money regardless. If there’s no integrity to a sport, then why even bother playing said sport.

Here’s one more little tidbit to consider. The FSU QB got hurt in week 11. If the committee thinks that FSU is a “different team” without him, why didn’t they move FSU down to 5th or 6th right after he got hurt? They were just as “different” in week 12 as they are right now. But nooooo, they had to wait till the final poll and use it to justify putting Bama and the SEC in over them. Again, inconsistent and arbitrary. It’s always been a joke and it continues. This one is the worst.

If FSU beats GA (they won't) but if they did and Bama or Texas wins out. I could get on board with recognizing an undefeated orange bowl champ and the 1 loss CFP champ as both claiming a split title.

I can’t seen once conference ever putting in six teams in a 12 team play off. Given that we’ll probably be talking Power 4 going forward, you’ll have 4 conference champs plus 8 at large. This year we’d have put Bama in a conference champ along with Georgia, Missouri and probably Ole Miss. I know some who will claim Texas this year but Texas would have had to play an SEC schedule so would Texas, Georgia, Missour and Ole Miss all still be in the top 12?
Getting 4 in in one year would be an exceptional year; 3 would be a normal year; and 2 would be a down year.

Interesting question asked by the guys at Off The Hook (OTH). Would FSU had been left out of the championship playoff this year if Deion Sanders was the coach?

Nope. Bama, Georgia and Ole Miss would beat FSU. Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State would beat FSU. Committee tried to pick the best teams and FSU, certainly, isn't one of them. Bobby Bowden didn't want FSU in the SEC back in the 90's because he didn't want to play a schedule like that. He said that publically twice. FSU to the easy basketball conference. I hope Georgia beats them by forty. Go to their board 'TheTerritory' and click onto 'The Porch'. They are blaming the SEC and ESPN for not getting in. Heck, five or six SEC schools and three or four B1G schools could all be in the top two over there every year. Just because you win your conference doesn't mean squat if its weak.

As I said before, if UGA shows up full strength and bests FSU the FSU fans will complain that their own players skipped it. If FSU beats a depleted UGA squad they will claim its proof they should have been in the playoff.

Sadly too many media people who make a living in sports & sports fans will fail to recognize this.

I believe that after watching FSU they could play with anyone if they had their entire team.

2014 Ohio State had Cardale Jones step into the starting job in the B1G championship game and they scored 59 points on Wisconsin. FSU barely escaped Florida and an overrated Louisville team w/ their backup quarterbacks.

They should also be looking at their own commissioner. Phillips was more concerned about his hurt feelings and the “alliance” he had formed with the B1G and the PAC12. How’s that working out ? Maybe throw some blame at Kevin Warren too for that matter . I don’t think he lived up to his part of the “alliance”.

I think FSU would have gotten in with that scenario. With the Georgia loss, the committee wanted Bama in and it was hard to justify leaving out Texas since they beat Bama and also won their conference.

If Georgia were to have beaten Bama, I think they put FSU in ahead of Texas in that scenario, but I guess we'll never know.
