I get realism every damn day - it's running a company with livelihoods on the line and trying to transform the world a little bit every day. And it ain't easy.

Tennessee football is not for "realists". It's about hope; it's about pageantry, tradition; it's about doing the impossible; it's about going into Norman and whippin' dey azz when we have no business doing so.

It's about Peyton Manning to Joey Kent. It's about Josh Smith hurdling #3. It's about Chuck Webb and Travis Stephens going wild. Sometimes it's about Pig Howard stretching for that goalline and coming up an inch short.

I don't want to hear about "reality" on Thursday and Friday. If OK put 59 on us like Oregon last year, I'm going to go total Negavol on Bajakian and Jancek and call them Dooley 2, Electric Boogaloo. But that's for Monday.

Right now, I believe we gone go to Norman and gone whip. dey. azz.

Say what? I believe in my vols and Butch Jones but 22 true freshmen is reality. I think if we were home an upset could happen.

Yeah I went to the realists thread and quickly exited as I'm not a realist but a fan(atic). I guess I don't get it. I've never gone into a game or cheered for my team in a game where I went in with an expectation to lose. To me part of being a fan is being a little delusional about your team. I hope our guys walk in the Norman stadium expecting to win.

Have hope..jeeesh. why even watch sports if you can't believe your team can beat the unbeatable, conquer the unconquerable, win the unwinnable. It's what makes sports so great. I get it, reality is, on paper they have a better team. But, why be so adamant that we are all as miserable and negative as you "realists" about the outcome of this game. Personally, I choose to remain hopeful. I choose to have faith in our team. Great effort and energy, no matter the score. A showing that makes us proud. That in itself will be a victory

If we can strike first, we can take the crowd out of the game.....temporarily. Every little bit of that can add up and make a difference.

Realism? No one ever thinks a rock is going to travel from outer space, make it through our atmosphere, crash through the roof of their house and by a miracle; just miss them by inches, dodging death. That shizzola happens! Think positive for the impossible happening, GBO!

Can't wait to see the OP's thread on Monday that will be titled "Dooley 2.0" if UT doesn't win. I'll be like this:

This is my issue with all of the we are going to win/the game is decided on the field folks, you say all this and get all pissy when someone points out the odds against us and then claim you will be calling for coaches heads on Monday if we lose.

No one really gave Oklahoma a chance last year against Bama. I look at it like hey, anything can happen.

Why watch or cheer for a team that you don't believe have a great chance to win? I've never watched any UT game not believing we would win if certain things happened. Yea, we may have came up short at the end, but that doesn't make me any less of a realist because I think we can win.

I always watch and cheer for UT. I just know the same people claiming victory will be the same saying fire blank come Sunday.
