UK is so established that they average 6.125 wins over the last 8 seasons.

UT has averaged 6.25 wins per season over that same time frame.

UK is all hype bc Stoops made it to where they’re not a cellar dweller. Their success and ascent to the top of the East is a facade. Winning record in conference play once during Stoops’s tenure. Looks like this year will be twice. So 2x in the last 9 seasons.

Kids team beat Trenton Peabody to advance to the State Championship Game. They will be facing South Pittsburg.

Last time McKenzie played South Pittsburg in the State Championship / even made a State Championship was in 2007. (Maybe McKenzie gets some revenge that’s been 14 years in the waiting….)

Game is on the 3rd of December.

Man my sons old high school gave SP all they could handle Friday.Had a false start on 1 on 3rd down killed them in the 4th quarter could of went up 30-14.Cloudland RB ended up with almost 2800 yards on the year over 40tds. Wasn’t impressed with Gio though but 28 for SP was a good looking player. Volquest mods made it sound like TN wasn’t really recruiting Gio anymore.

I haven’t seen a game this year. I saw a highlight film of Gio. I didn’t think he looked dominant and figured he was getting recruited based on size alone. I keep up with the old stomping grounds as much as I can. Be honest quez looks fast versus 1A talent. Hope he comes to Knoxville. As long as the coaches think it translates to SEC. Don’t care from hearing from local folk either. Gets too biased.

Yeah Taylor looks like the real deal. Cloudland RBs rushed for 180 and 182 on SP. SP new what was coming and couldn’t stop it. Gio will need a Red Shirt wherever he goes. When he gets a year in a college weight room and coaching you just never know what the player might look like after a couple of years.

Gio has a lot of character concerns and doesn't have that great of a motor. Really going to hurt him as a mid-major level recruit

No character concerns. I have only watched him play to his full potential once and that was last year. He has had a hamstring I just y’all year and came back 1 or 2 games before the playoffs. He has lost a lot of weight and drive this year. Don’t think he will be signing anywhere due to his grades. If #57 was Gio size he would have offers from any school he wanted. That being said as big of a SP fan and carry a state ring from the 07’ win against McKenzie I think they will win by 14 possibly more due to SP just not having a Oline or very good dline minus 57&75. I do look for all our points to be scored by 28. Haven’t seen anyone cover this kid 1 on 1 including the Oakland game. Online has to give our qb enough time which isn’t likely.

I have a little hate for you if you played on that 07 team. I might of played against you in said Championship game lol. We played like poo poo…. I scored one of the only TDs….

My senior class had played since little league together. We just hd that chemistry. We only had one transfer and he came n middle school. Don’t worry y’all will get your revenge this year and probably next. Actually very surprised we made it this year. If you would have asked when coach Jones pulled a kiffin on us that next game against north Jackson I would have told you we wouldn’t have made it past the first round.

I dunno, McKenzie has played well this year but they haven’t played near the talent South Pitt has played this year and South Pitt has wrecked teams.

Y’all only have two losses this year and it was to a 2A Georgia team and 6A Oakland who beat Maryville in the playoffs.

But this is also McKenzie’s record setting year. With the win on Friday they surpassed my 07s record setting year. Which is a heck of a feat. I do hope McKenzie wins because this would be the first time in the history of the school to go Undefeated and to also win a State Championship.

I thought your team,players, and fans were all very respectful. Didn’t see any kids over celebrating on the field. The fan support was awesome. From watching the game Friday I didn’t see any character concerns from any player on the field. It was a great game.

We typically get a bad name because of who sp is but you do always have a few bad apples that give a bad reputation as well. My thoughts on that game was both lines got whipped and we shouldn’t have won the game. Cland best themselves on a false start but that’s just my opinion.

Yes they went on 2. Should just went on 1 and do what they do best. If 74 for Cland would put the work in the off season the next few years he could play college ball 6’2 315lbs sophomore.

I honestly don’t see this game being close but it’s football and you never can tell. The Oakland game shouldn’t count imo. Never had a chance to win that one. Them boys are like watching a college team. I will say I wasn’t impressed with Jordan James but then again he could have been sand bagging. Hard to say. As crazy as it may sound we are down this year and will be for the next few, comparing to previous teams. Going to be interesting who we pick up for a head coach. I have heard of a few names but that’s just hear say.
Does Taylor have younger kinfolk on this team? If so is he getting any looks?
Does McKenzie play man or zone? I really would love to see 28 for us to show out. The kid needs to be playing somewhere. I haven’t seen him drop any catchable ball this year. I know we have had several kids in the past go to bethel but I’m not sure if it was just a connection there but we haven’t had any go there recently.

I agree with you. #74 is a hoss. I’m 6ft and he dwarfed me. I’m thinking more like 6’4. I’m thinking it’s going to be gordonsville next year to rep the east

Taylor does not have any kinfolk on the team that I know of. But that kid is electric with the ball in his hands.

Knowing our defense just from playing in it, I would assume they will be running man on the corners and zone at the safety position it is what McKenzie has ran for forever.

I haven’t seen any offensive film on SP so I don’t know what y’all’s attack is this year. Comer will dictate his defense off of that.

Bethel has a new coach Michael Jasper former player and NFL player. He played football at Mount Juliet and probably has more connections out that way and at that level of football which is probably why not many kids from South Pittsburg have gone there recently.
