Maybe as a PWO. With his offer list I cannot see how we could use a scholarship on him.
What is your evaluation of him? How does he get in and out of breaks? What competition did you see him play? Is he explosive or not? Does he track the ball well? Is he better in zone or man?

We always like to say “coaches know more”

No major offers, so I’m going with the majority of high level coaches on this one.

Pass.

That had nothing to do with the question.

But since you brought it up, how many high majors offered Inky Johnson? He was an All SEC level CB before his horrific injury. Did you trust them?

“What is your evaluation of him”

I gave it to you…well I gave you the majority of coaches evaluations. So yes, it quite literally had everything to do with your question.

A) No. You didn’t. I asked for specific evaluations of certain skill sets to be judged by one’s OWN eyes and understanding of those skill sets, not a vague reference to “other coaches.” But you knew that and are simply playing obtuse to avoid conceding the point.
B) I didn’t actually ask you. I asked another poster.
C) That’s not what “literally” means.

Citing an anomaly doesn’t strengthen your argument. But props for citing Inky instead of the standard go to Cedric Tillman.

Parents don’t realize but they do their child absolutely no good constantly harping about coaches, playing time, etc. Speaking negatively about the coach in front of your child or in public in general just builds up negativity that poisons the mind & hinders the player’s performance. Go to your car & scream it out if you have to but destroying your child’s faith in their coach does your child no good. I learned this lesson with my oldest son and I finally realized I wasn’t doing him any good.

I don't need to "strengthen" my argument. No one has issued an argument of the actual issue. Because no one has provided a good reason this kid can or can't be a good player. It's stupid for people who are ignorant of his skillset to say that people who a) have evaluated his skillset and b) are ACTUALLY qualified and paid millions to evaluate players are wrong (or right) to pursue him.

I'm just being realistic enough to say that I don't know. He may be Tillman or Inky. He may be a bench warmer. But no one on this thread knows that either. And they're sure as hell not more qualified to determine whether Tennessee should take him or not than our coaches are. It's moronic to think so.

And by the way....the Sensabaughs (kid's dad and uncle) were both underrecruited and Tennessee didn't offer, despite both being East Tennessee recruits. Both played in the NFL. At least one has a Super Bowl ring. Is that a better comp than Tillman or Inky?

Travis and his brother if he didn't pass away would have been pro too. The family is super talented. If this kid was raised by Travis I would have said 100% sign the kid up.

Not Gerald though, I was in the family for years and I know the ins and outs of it.

Brice Sensabaugh with the Utah Jazz is same part of the family and was a 1st round pick in NBA Draft this year.

We can tell. That’s why we’re trying to help you understand.
Irony is people who can't admit what they don't know telling the only one admitting what he doesn't know that they're trying to help him understand what he doesn't know.

Hypocrisy is probably a better word for it, though.

It’s not hypocrisy. Why can’t you look at the offer list and say it for what it is? It’s weak. Now there is always a chance this guy could wind up being a really good player. But the question remains, why hasn’t he gotten any big time offers?

Exceptions prove the rule now?
Nope. Never said that.

You seem to think there are "rules" that cover everyone. There are no rules. This isn't science, it's the unknown future.

I don't know if Sensabaugh will be good or bad. Neither do you. That should be obvious. But since you asked, I was glad Tennessee signed Daniel Brooks instead of Patrick Willis. We all were.

Ah yes, nobody wants the kid. That's why Tennessee is bringing him in for another visit potentially and he's visiting two other P5 programs

Be honest with yourself…

Do you want the kids Vanderbilt, Illinois, and WVU are fighting over? Or do you want the kids consistent top 25 teams are after?

I’m willing to trust our coaches if they decide that their senior season eval (especially for a kid who’s had a massive growth spurt and was injured last season) warrants an offer.
