'24 TN DB Marcus Goree (Tennessee)

I guess we will never know about this one, unless his new team plays him there.
This is an issue for the bowl game, but lots of fans did nothing but complain about our veteran DBs. They will definitely get to see the younger guys play now. The youth movement is full steam ahead in the secondary. We had to make room and cut some scholarships somewhere, but you have to wonder if it's related to the future of Willie Martinez as well?

Can Boo and Marcus play in the bowl game if they both enroll early? We sure could use them with everyone leaving.

If it’s related to maybe Martinez not being there in future, what might that tell us about those who maybe committed but not signed yet?

Asking for a friend.

These are all older guys hitting the portal, with the exception of Jack Luttrell. I don't think it changes things with current commits. It could also be NIL related, with those older guys wanting the same or more than the. younger guys. There are a few possible reasons for the exodus of. this older DBs.

Those older DBs are about to get their first lesson in the cold, cruel world of supply and demand and the harsh reality that there's a lot of supply, and they aren't in demand.

As mentioned, Burrell has already found a home. I expect D. Slaughter and McDonald to find homes as well. Turnage will land somewhere because he's a former Bama signee and had a monster game for us 2 years ago. Rucker will likely have to go to a FCS program or bad group of 5 school.

Yea I'm wondering about that as well even though he didn't recruit any of the kids leaving. Is this a sign that Willie is not returning OR staying? 🤔

Those guys love Martinez and he's been very loyal to upperclassmen.

Oh, they'll find homes. It just won't be a grass is greener situation. They will all sign with lesser programs. It might afford then more playing time, and maybe a little more change in their pocket (nominal amount), but the overall team situation will be a downgrade.
