'20 TN DE/LB Tyler Baron (UT SIGNEE)

Think this like beckwith is another case of decent talent that didnt fit the system. Too slow for olb with us, probably didn’t gel with moving to de full time. Disappointed just because of all the losses we’re having on the dl, but not surprised.

I know you think portal, portal but ther is no definitive guarantee we find someone who is instantly better than Baron if we miss on Verse.
Portal is there for quite a few more months. Sure I have my hopes that Verse is coming but I can assure I am not banking on it. If you look at our present roster, there is presently a few that are close if not equal to Baron. Hate seeing any of these guys leave, hell I hated to see our long snapper leave and lose his scholarship at a school he loves but that's for another thread. We lost Baron, it caused a slight, very slight bump in the road and onward we chugg !

This is most definitely a loss but fortunately not a "big" loss and can be filled with present/future projects for Garner.

If true, will take dusting out those that mess with our present culture and locker room direction.
I don’t know if thats accurate….. I have always heard Baron was a great teammate/hard worker…… staff had huge issues with the dad which obviously affects his son.

Was he "our long-snapper" if he didn't play?

We were at 87…now at 84. Need more defections.
I have us at 83 now. I know lwsvol has us at 84. My difference is I don’t think TJ Carver (walk-on kicker) is on scholarship. Lwsvol says Brent thinks he was put on scholarship last year. I think if he was it was a one year deal. He’s not even going to be our kicker next year unless McGrath leaves.

Is the accuracy the culture part mentioned ?
If so........my comment to that is I, like others, see what talking heads say and I then personally take all with a grain of salt. I've seen where he has been undecided on what he wants to do future wise and other comments I have seen from talking head folks that we quote from time to time. Without making more than what it is, he chose not to be here and we will find a replacement.

He has been back and forth with the staff. His dad’s departure seems like just to much to overcome. I’d watch KY and A&M

This staff didn’t fire his dad. He was fired along with Pruitt’s crew
Don’t think that is correct. He survived the Pruitt staff changes and was initially retained by Heupel. Fired mid season. (Or he stepped down depending on who reports it). Rumor has it he and Garner didn’t get along very well.

“Heupel didn't fire Abernathy. That departure had to do with actions done with the previous staff” -Hubbs

Haven't seen "cancer in the program" mentioned, only that there was attitude and work ethic problem !
Is that true ?.....I neither believe it nor dis believe but if there is a problem like that with any players, I feel confident this staff will deal with it properly !
