'19 TN DL Zion Logue (UGA Commit)

Following recruiting was damn near impossible prior to the internet and recruiting services.

Back in the day, recruiting information was in magazines. I never bought them but I would get them off the book racks and read the Tennessee information and put them back :cool::cool:

Under no circumstances am I or am I trying to be an insider but...

I have some strong ties in Lebanon and I've consistently heard that he's a little soft and lacks "that dog" in him for pretty much the last couple of years. I've also heard that the family would rather have him closer to home but, what family doesn't want their child closer...?

I trust Atlanta Vol's ties a helluva lot more than mine and he's 200+ miles farther away than me
Sounds like he's had a huge senior season and Simonton talks like he's a HUGE priority for the staff. Pruitt getting ready to fix that softness.

He's been productive, IIRC. And FWIW, it was mentioned earlier in the thread but Bituli had the same reputation coming out of high school and he turned out pretty good...

And apparently, when he gets pissed it's pretty damn intimidating.

He can be coached up. I'd rather him be here than Athens.

Sounds like we just need to tell him water sucks and Gatorade is better...

we need DL, so he's a take no matter what imo...not sure why we're willing to bag on him at this point. position of need we have the chance at taking away from a rival.

double bonus.

This from a good friend of mine who works in Lebanon. TIFWIW: About to flip all of Kirby’s recruits coming this weekend. Zion’s uncle works with me and said Zion thinks he made a bad choice commuting to UGA. He also said Zion was raised by women and is soft. If he gets some JJ in him he will be a stud.

I can 100% buy that if he is planning on driving between Athens and Lebanon it's going to be a bad choice.

I think the whole "softness" factor is being waaay overplayed.. it strikes me as one of those examples (like CJP talking about JG not calling out pre-snap blocking assignments) where it's mentioned once and then everyone seizes on it, magnifying it and blowing it out of proportion.

The dude has committable SEC offers as a DE. He can only be so soft. Kinda tired of hearing it, especially based on "Oh he was raised by women". FOH

I agree 100%. If his drive, toughness or whatever was that questionable, Pruitt would have moved on a long time ago.

The whole "raised by women" thing is funny.. Wasn't Barnett raised by his mom? How did that turn out?

Im not trolling. Ive been a member here since 2010. My friend works with Zions Uncle in Lebanon. He messaged me what Zions Uncle told him.

Many young football players come from less than ideal family situations, and in many cases their coaches are significant role models for them. While it may be a culture change for them, it's pretty common and clearly works out just fine in most cases.

And if anyone questions whether Pruitt is happy in that role, stop and ask yourself what he must be made of given that elementary education is where he started. He's not a coach just because he loves football.

Agree...this is a business, and if he was really “soft”, SEC teams wouldn’t give him the time of the day....much less commitable offers this late in the game...
