Kiffin was given the keys to the kingdom at USC, one of the most historic programs on the West Coast, a program with endless resources in a division that only dreams of being as strong as the SEC West and he proceeded to get canned for not meeting expectations. I'm not exactly concerned with him.
He was dealing with huge scholarship restrictions and depth when he took over at SC. He had to Coach and recruit a team with a 2 yr bowl ban and lost 30 scholarships over 3 yrs..imagine Pruitt only being able to sign 15 instead of 25 for the next 3 yrs. Also Jr's and Sr's were allowed to transfer without sitting out. He lost 6+ his first yr at USC, 2 of which transferred to Tn. Year 2 he won the Pac 12 but sanctions kept them out of the Pac 12 Championship game and finished ranked 6th in the country. He finished 28-15 at USC, which was remarkable considering he scholarship and transfer losses. Very few, if any Coach's would have done any batter. He was in a no win situation and far exceeded what should have been expected.
