'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

There are lots of moving parts like every recruiting battle. I do know one thing about this recruitment: let's just say every coach on staff is not aligned in their effort to bring Nolen to UT. There are concerns about his "fit" with the culture. Part of that also extends to his family. But he is such a highly rated, talented player that currently lives in Knoxville so that is making it an interesting situation. Let's put it this way: If he lived in Arkansas with no ties to UT our staff would not even be pursuing him.
How do you know all this?

Take everything you read on a message board with a grain of salt.

As far as Nolen goes, I would really love for him to eventually choose UT, but if he doesn't, I'm sure we'll be okay. Simmons, Thomas, and Terry should all be back next year. Hopefully Bailey develops under CRG. If we can add a couple of JuCos or transfers, we should have a pretty good DT rotation. Hopefully Phillips stays committed, and we can get at least one more HS DT just for the future.

Ranking-wise, Nolen may make or break this class, but I think that's just on paper.

CRG is the one that is not all-in on recrphuiting Nolen.

Don't have a clue if there is evidence to back this up or not, but I bet staffs are fearful of losing the PERCEPTON war on guys with this much attention that could walk to campus. I would also have to believe their analysis of probable success would be higher for players with exceptional physical gifts. On the other hand I would SPECULATE that there is some fear of winning the battle and and them not living up to EXPECTATIONS. Wish we could know the time investment trendlines for our staffers. or see the board in the war room. Worst case is losing the battle on guys like this and watching them meet or exceed expectations elsewhere. Next might be winning the war and the kid never approaching the impact expected of 5 star guys. We should get a good idea of his projected value for UT by the efforts to flip him between now and when he picks up the pen. Exhaustive vs cursory efforts should give us an idea, doubt we ever get anything on tape.

Garner probably senses an attitude problem or doesn’t see the potential in him.

Could make sense on why he committed to Texas A&M out of no where.

Ok well then I’m out too! Makes me feel so much better
So, what reason do you have for believing that? Some random person posts that RG isn't all-in on recruiting WN and some of you are so eager to believe it...just because it gives you a good excuse for a talented local guy going elsewhere. This is exactly has false info spreads online...folks believing what they want to be true and not even caring if it actually is true.

Committed out of nowhere? He visited A&M 3 times in 5 weeks. That’s not exactly out of “nowhere”. Also, his Twitter indicated where he’d probably go.

You can look at my posting history. I don't bring anything just for giggles. This is from conversation with a team personel that is involved with the coaches. You notice how a physically talented, previously highly rated Aubrey Solomon almost never plays a down? There is more to it than physical talent.

Who cares! Gives me an excuse to emotionally check out. Don’t worry about me
