'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

The funniest thing about this is... he may not finish his college career at TAM.

Even with great teams, you have to get great QB play. Fisher has not been able to find the right guy and coach him up. Mond was good, not great. He had a habit of wilting against the better teams.

TAM is unlikely to be as patient with Fisher as many believe. The Bama win salvages this 8-4 season for him... but they're expecting more than 8.5 wins per season for the money they're paying him.
Then they probably shouldn’t have guaranteed it to him for 10 years

No doubt about that. These contracts are getting crazier all the time. Eventually someone is going to sign a contract like this and get burned big time by a mediocre or bad coach. Fisher, IMO, is a candidate.

Whether they find a way to fire him or he flounders and players start jumping ship... I still think Nolen could finish his career somewhere else.

I'd love to play them again once we get the horses. Think we would win. I mean honestly, if we had the horses we probably are 11-1 this season and played for the SEC ship with the job these coaches did.

Seeing these recent comments is hilarious. If Nolen were to sign with us, the same ones saying negative things would be singing his praise about how we got one of the best players in the country.

I'll bet A&M is just about as sick of the drama as Tennessee. Goofy recruitment, goofy career. I'll be shocked if Nolen pans out relative to his ranking, talent aside.

This 100%. But I’m kinda like at this point I hope that we can get him just because of the optics…which is really a stupid reason. I just can’t really remember many kids that had this type of recruitment delivering on the hype. This one really reminds me of Jay Hardy who’s done absolutely nothing. When you look at the defensive lineman that have come in amd do well right out of the gate I think of kids like Tyler baron amd before him Derek Barnett. Both of those guys were top 100 type kids but both were really hungry and ready to get to work. Nolan seems more hungry for attention than anything else. Also, if he can’t tell Tennessee is skyrocketing up as a program right now I don’t know what to say.

Nope I would be saying we got a guy with potential that has a lot of work to do. I don’t know him so will not question his work ethic. But based on watching him in high school it is going to be a learning curve and many things to get better at. Number 1 5 star usually means day 1 starter and impact player. I just don’t see that happening at Tennessee or A@M. But he can get there if he has the drive.GBO!
