When guys decide to play for a team based mostly on money, I think we’ll see a lot of homesickness. It’s just like one of us taking a job in a different city just because of a bump in salary. After a few months you discover that money indeed does not buy happiness and you start missing your lower paying job back home.

It feels like Nico is building relationships with the staff and other players, but I worry that a Californian in east Tennessee with a big NIL factor in recruitment could miss home a few months in too. It’s going to be a crazy few years as everyone feels out NIL and the portal.

I just turned 40. I left after HS for the military and finally ended up landing in Minnesota. I’ve been homesick at times but I’m happy where I’m at. I go home at times but it’s always nice to put it in the rear view when it’s time to leave. Home doesn’t offer me the same opportunities.

I am a travel PT and live full time away. I move every 3-9 months. I have a house in Knoxville and that is considered my “home” and where I grew up. I only come back about 3 weekends a year
Dayum! That’s a lot of moving. Hope you’re back in Knoxville for some home games this year.

If Volnation could make the decision on whether or not to make these the official road unis would you vote

Yes or

No?
Can not happen. To my knowledge, those are the only uniforms outlawed by the SEC at the request of Bear Bryant. He claimed they did not meet SEC requirements due to the fact they had too much orange on the jersey.

Vols wore them against UNLV in 2004. Vols were home team. So I am not sure they are outlawed

Pretty sure uniform rules have changed since then, believe I’ve read on here more than once that those can’t be worn anymore although I don’t remember the reason why.

The reason why is because the Orange was too low into the chest area. The ones in 2004 were not identical to those worn in the 70s

Why is that an issue?

Not really seeing where the old school jersey is a problem in the above referenced rule book.

Can you highlight where this article mentions this could be seen as a problem so we can debate further?

I just posted the rule for all to read. I have no position on any debate. I am guessing the issue being discussed was the YOKES on the shoulder pads we used years ago and I see nothing in the rules that would allow it, since the only exceptions appear to be neck and arm trim and the 4 inch wide swath from the armpit to the pants down the side. Personally, I would like a checkerboard YOKE.
