Did you see how quick these politicians, who move quickly for nothing, jumped in there to pass an NIL law? Just saying don’t put it past some Alabama legislators to change something when powerful boosters come pushing. And again, you counter that with a hidden tax elsewhere, this isn’t that outlandish in SEC country.Thats so laughable, they are not going to change their state income tax to get college football players to go to a school. Im still laughing at that notion.
I don’t disagree one bit here, but here’s my take on the modern state of football:But offenses which score a lot of points are what most of the fan bases want to see a lot of points on the board. That puts more fans in the seats, more donations, and higher TV ratings which means more money. We all know more money is the ultimate goal in today's society.
I can somewhat agree but when I see a DB raping an open receiver I think it may be a little more even. I am probably more than a little strange but nothing excites me more than a defensive player making a sack or popping a RB in the backfield. My ideal team would be two Reggie Whites on the DL and two Dale Jones or Leonard Littles at DE, An Al Wilson at MLB, and a Jackie Walker and Raynoch Thompson at OLB. Couple that with the 1971 defensive backfield with a sub of Eric Berry and we have the world's most exciting team. We might have the possibility of breaking the unscored on record held by the 1939 Vols. We would be singing I Don't Give a Damn every week.I don’t disagree one bit here, but here’s my take on the modern state of football:
Score 10-7: most likely an unwatchable game
Score 54-50 (in regulation): basketball scores, team with ball last wins, no faith in defense, don’t like.
Score 30-24 perfect range of scoring in my opinion. Offensives have moved the ball, but defenses have made key stops as well.
My opinion for a while now is that the rules are slanted too much to he offense and it’s hurting the game. IMO, everyone they pass a rule to favor the offense, there needs to be an adjustment to help defenders as well.
Definitely with you on that. I just feel the pendulum has swung too much the other way and defenders are having to play on their heels for fear of ejection.I can somewhat agree but when I see a DB raping an open receiver I think it may be a little more even. Man, I get chill bumps thinking about such a defense.
Totally agree, but there is a woke element being encouraged by a lot of legal activity that is killing football. I predict that it will get worse when the lawyers start marketing the non-NFL players to join in a class action lawsuit against the colleges. They know that there is a pot of gold sitting there and unfortunately the lawyers will end up with most of it.Definitely with you on that. Try and take money from Government. End of discussion.Did you see how quick these politicians, who move quickly for nothing, jumped in there to pass an NIL law? This will be the norm. Kids will include the top twitter/social media fan bases to gain followers. You are paid by the # of followers you have thus increasing your market value to potential companies wanting endorsements on SM.So he puts us in the top 5, but we have 0% of getting him? Why not just leave us out? I'm not saying you are wrong by no means and I don't follow recruiting regularly like you do, but I simply don't understand the logic of it, if what you say is true. I understand kids want attention but he is already way to good to drag schools along if he has no intent to attend. If he waits until after the season and the D-line looks improved under RG, how would that not look good and give us a chance? If this is simply for publicity for TN, it is truly sad how low we have gone to have a HS kid to "act" like he would attend this University just so we can gain "favor" with other HS kids. Maybe I'm too old and just don't understand, but to me that is tasteless, classless, and down right not needed. We don't need HS kids to "do us a favor" but acting interested. I learned along time ago, honesty is truly the best policy, and if what you say is true, kids needs this to be taught to them early on in life.
Go Vols!!
Sooo what are you saying rusty.....This will be the norm. Kids will include the top twitter/social media fan bases to gain followers. You are paid by the # of followers you have thus increasing your market value to potential companies wanting endorsements on SM.
TN is probably the biggest fan base on Twitter. Bama Twitter is waking up but they are still on dialup.

I agree 100 with your stance but it won’t be as common as it was. My nephew was recruited, he told the coaches of schools that he wasn’t interested in, that he didn’t want to waste their time. He was appreciative of the opportunity but respected their time. Thanks,
Sounds like I need to stay away from recruiting because I simply haven't caught up with this generation. I know this is entirely different sport and nothing compares to football, but my daughter is being recruited and I told her to be honest from the beginning. If she's not interested, tell them thanks, but no thanks. Again, I guess it shows my age and I'm old fashion in how things should be done.
Unfortunately, you rarely see that these days.I agree 100 with your stance but it won’t be as common as it was. The prettiest sight on a football field, IMO, is a snot-bubbler tackle. When a defensive player hits a guy so hard you can feel it at home through the TV, that's just special.I can somewhat agree but when I see a DB raping an open receiver I think it may be a little more even.
