why not? Both Auburn and Mizzou had losing records last year and made it this year with an influx of talent. AU got a couple breaks along the way, but sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
Reason number two, most coaches see the most improvement from year one to year two and Butch has shown the same results as previous coaches like Saban, Miles, Richt, even Muschamp went 11-2 his second year. The others all went 13-1.
Before someone screams OL, did you watch our OL this year? That is also why you bring in some JUCO lineman that are physically ready to contribute.
Year two, 11-3.

Not to be completely crazy... but here we go. We have UGA, UF, and Mizzou at home next year. UGA losing Murray, UF either still suffering from Muschamp syndrome or maybe a new coach, and Mizzou as a home field upset? Leaving Vandy and SC as winnable games away. Oh... And Kentucky. Lol The east might be weak next year. If Butch is going to be great, he certainly will have the opening to do it. If butch is the legend in the rough that we were looking for, he will shine next year, freshman, no depth, and all.
Many decades? No. Barely last decade. The change was made in 2000. Before 2000, we ended the season with Vanderbilt for the better part of a century.
Ahh yes. Forgot about that. SEC must have seen it coming and changed the schedule before next year.
I think UT is UK's last sec opponent though. I think UT ends with Vandy.
Oh well.
We all laugh and make fun of the op now, but come September its guaranteed we will see a lot more threads like this and more people will actually go along with it. Its these kinds of expectations that make people create "fahr butch" threads in October.
I see no problem with this happening other than replacing the O line, D Line, LBs, RB, K, not having anything remotely settled on QB, and regrettably returning the secondary intact.
No problem whatsoever there.
And before we start in on how bad the O line underwhelmed or any other spot, these positions will be filled with incoming players or players on the roster that couldn't beat out this group that just went 5-7.
I think they will be the same or worse next season. The only positives is an easier schedule and players being in Butch's system longer.

Although the secondary made some poor decisions this year I believe with a stronger defensive line the secondary will look alot better.
