'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

People were just in the RF debating if this was a top 3, 5, or "as good as any class in the country" last week. Now no Toots and Russ and goons jumpin off of bridges.

Such extremes! Some people need to get some sausage wallet.
Henley Street Bridge is the only acceptable bridge to jump off of. Otherwise you're not a true Vol fan.

Some just don't understand it, Bass; and, they never will, because they will ALWAYS find something negative, and something to bit*h about...ALWAYS, NO MATTER WHAT. I have said it before, the night we win the National Championship, and it IS going to happen...these same people will STILL be talking about Butch or Dooley or Kiffin, if not all 3 at the same time. There is not a doubt in my mind they will. I'd bet they are the very same way with their everyday lives, as well. So, here in the last few nights, Ive decided to no longer waste my breath or my time responding to them any longer.

They are too blind to see that it's not just 4-8 & 5-7 the last 2 yrs; but, it's also a national perception, by pretty much everyone, including recruits, of being the butt of EVERY SINGLE JOKE in college football, the laughing stock of college football for the last 6-9 yrs. How many recruits have been "surprised" whenever they visit? Several. They just can't believe how awesome Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee truly are...what our program has been in the past, and what it can offer. They have no clue!!!...because all they know about is the losing, champions of life, Greg Shiano, an embarrassment of a coaching search, and being laughed at for it, etc etc. How many countless recruits have talked about Pruitt compared to Butch...and what WAS, compared to what IS?

Also, the local Knoxville media, for the most part, and VQ, and guys of that ilk absolutely does us NO FAVORS. Just take today, and what they've been saying about recruiting the state. I hate to break it to everyone, the 50th best prospect in Georgia, would be a top 10 prospect Tennessee. Period. I hate to say that, I played HS football in TN, my brothers and nephews played, and play, HS football in TN; but, it's the absolute truth, and anyone who doesn't realize it is asleep, and probably doesnt want to be awakened.

Recruits, they ALL love Pruitt and this staff, and what's happening and being built; the culture change is in full-fledge process. We now just have to win to be able to pull some of the ones we've lost BY A HAIR these first two cycles. Recent success and failure on the field has been the ONLY difference when it comes to Henry T, Trezman Marshall, or Justin Eboigbe, and some of the others.

But, as far as these geniuses go, that want to rip a top 15 class, after ALL that has happened to our beloved program, and give their snide remarks about something they couldn't do in a million yrs...just laugh at them, because a laugh is all they're worth, man.

Sorry for such a long diatribe. Take it as a final eff off to those Vol "fans", that we all know too well, unfortunately; and maybe some advice to you, Bass.

Go Vols.
Forgot to blame ESPN. Everyone knows they have it out for us. Have ever since they robbed Peyton of his Heisman.

Lol, your whole post was reasonable up until this statement. Who cares if you have a Topgolf? As if Topgolf is the only (or even a good) indicator of a region's growth or success.

I agree with your post in general, but this made me chuckle. It came off as "oh yeah, well we have Topgolf and your only Topgolf is Nashville so we're clearly growing more!"
They got 3 Applebee's.

Tennessee is the only state in the Southeast that high school football players with legit P5 offers hold it against the instate school for noticing them around the same time the out-of-state P5 school do and then claim UT was late to their recruitment even when it happened at the same time. Other states have kids waiting for a commitable offer up to signing day from the in-state school. It’s just insane that UT doesn’t get the same treatment from Tennessee high school players.

So how's his visit going OD? Is he having fuunnnnnnn?.........

I just got caught up on the VQ stuff from today. Ageelaw (Lawyer in Dyersburg) and LupoVol (Owner of resturant our coaches were at yesterday) both said his brother was offered a PWO spot and it was not taken well. Ageelaw said he was disrespectful to the coaches yesterday too.

Also, LupoVol says the Dyersburg coach and our coaches are not to blame. He said Dyersburg’s coach has tried to encourage the visit and thinks Russell is making a mistake not taking it. He went on to say the dad is not an issue either.

Ageelaw says Russell was offended he camped with us and was not offered.

All said, tifwiw.
This is the same guy that is the 900th ranked player in the country correct? Sounds like he is out of touch with where he thinks his skill set is compared to what others think about him.

IMO, it has a lot to do with the fact that this program has been a steaming turd for a majority of the last 12 years. None of these kids have seen UT be successful. If we were averaging 9 or 10 wins a season the last decade, I think these kids’ attitudes toward UT would be much more positive.
