TN In or Out? How fair will it be?

Yes. He referenced it.

Our NCAA tourney bid ended when we had no answer to the zone, stood around on offense against Ole Miss, physical game allowed by officating, a missed call that could have be reviewed, lost the sense of urgency and add to it St Bonaventure winning today...If we make it it would be a miracle and unfair to someone else. With all that said, at midseason we all expected to be watching the NCAA tournament or NIT anyway so making the NIT is what they earned.

Prospects or recruits will not look at the Tennessee any differently than if we had gone to the NCAA versus the NIT. It is hogwash to think that. CCM will get the players he needs to be here and this years exceeding of expections and the turnaround with Stokes will draw more attention to recruits.

The bolded, I think, is incorrect. Everybody near the bottom has given the committee ample reason to cut them out. Is it unfair to NC State if we get in ahead of them? Is it unfair to Drexel? No. But it's also not unfair if they get in ahead of us.

Now if Washington or Arizona gets in ahead of UT, NCState, Drexel, etc, I'll be calling unfair.

Who knows with all the bubble action going on. I Like to think that CCM knows something we don't about the tournament. IMO he still thinks we are in. So we will see. I don't see the ugly losses as much of a factor of consideration as I do our Road and Neutral site W/L record. Our overall W/L record will be a factor also. I would like to see this team earn 20 wins either in the NCAA or the NIT. I would like to see the 7 consecutive NCAA tournament streak extended and I think it would be quite indicative of the coach we have at UT.

Add to it the fact that Sat Midday they had no locked at large bids but had the bids slotted. The committee probably determined the at large bids (37) with the Ole Miss game results fresh on their minds.

I don't know how anyone could say we deserve to get in when we can't win ONE conference game, with everything to play for

They stepped up when they needed to get a three to send it to OT. And who knows, they probably would have stepped up and won it if the referee had not taken away that final opportunity. McBee was on fire.

The Orange Koolaid has mad its way into your blood system. Not a totally accurate post be its has the makings of an orangeblooded fan.

Stepping up in OT would have not letting us get down by 7 with a minute left.

They deserve to get in to the tournament. Whether they do is a completely different story. I would put them in over some of the teams listed above without hesitation, the committee may not feel that way. Hope they do. This team could have folded they didn't and earned it. Now it numbers and opinions. If they put 5 into the tournament from the SEC which they could, Then no other team deserves the 5th slot more than Tennessee.

Still, when we were down 7, McBee stepped up and hit 2 three's. Who knows, he might have hit another one if the ref had given us the ball.

I'd be shocked if we got a bid. Although it's hard we should be happy by over acheiving in some cases. Finishing 2nd when picked to be 11th, winning some good games and for the most part, not quitting. You can't expect to make a run towards the end and get good results. November and December counts too!

In the case of 2012, it is. Especially since Tennessee was picked to be sitting at home during both post season tournaments. Now after this season, NIT will be a failure.

A) 2nd in SEC w/ a shot at NCAA tournament

B) 2nd in SEC w/ a shoe in for NIT tournament

C)11th in SEC w/ watching postseason games on the couch.

We all are hoping for A, but B is not failure considering the predictions for this team. Heck, I just want to see this team play more games.

Tennessee is one of the best 37 at large teams in the country as of today. That is obvious and in my mind hard to argue against. If they do not get in the committee is full of ****. Forget what happened two months ago. They definitely should get in and definitely should get in over Seton Hall.

Shawn Seigel's final bracket (including the Xavier loss) moved UT up to a 12 seed. Man, this guy is really getting my hopes up. I hope the committee surprises me and puts us in.

I just think we get 5 in the NCAA and think that Tennessee is the best of others to put in the 5th position from the SEC.

ESPN and CBS both have only 4 SEC team making the tourney.
I would say that is not fair.
