TN is NCAAT Bound: "Cant keep them out"

I was surprised this morning that my favorite source which uses the S-curve didn't have us in yet.
Win/loss, KenPom and sagarin figure highly in their placements.
The 20th and 21st wins will seal the deal.

Also, as long as UT wins on Thursday, I believe they get in.

I think so too honestly, I would just really like to win 2 so there's no doubt. If committee truly looks at last 10 like they say, we've got to be the best bubble team out there.

OP doesn't understand that other bubble teams aren't the only ones that can take a tourney spot. UT is the last team in right now. One mid-major team stealing a conference championship would kick out UT.

Last team in according to who? One person, Lunardi. Others have UK as last team in, so if a bids stolen it may be at UKs expense.

Yup...you're talking about ranking the top 50 since auto bids go to the others so the idea that one person could rank a team 46th and others wouldn't have a ddifferent opinion is crazy...just look at the different ranking sometimes in the major polls.. I do think bto that there has been on emphasis in recent years to deemphasize last 10 games relative to recent years...head of selection committee was interviewed at HT of Xavier-Memphis on tigers network and he said as much...also something he said that backs up a lunardi opinion was that qual wins > not having bad losses..

You don't want to enter the tourney with a bad loss in the S.E.C. tourney. I am sure that we will not win every game in the S.E.C. tourney but you don't want to have a bad loss by 15 or so points, then head to the tourney.

Also, what if a team that is a huge underdog wins the S.E.C., then they will be in the tourney, right?

Couple years ago we got destroyed by UK in the sec tournament. We then proceeded to upset Ohio st in the sweet 16 and were 1 point away from the Final 4.

Certainly true. But if you look at RPI, only a couple of these will apply. Belmont helped us last night by winning in OT. Wichita State or Creighton will win, and both were in. Probably the only other one we need is MTSU. Akron and La Tech don't have the resume if they lose in their tourney.

If the last 10 games thing is true and they're looking at resumes equally as a whole that's dissapointing...our last 10 was one of our biggest strengths.

Maybe because there are only a handful of AtLarge teams that don't have bad losses.

Selection committees have done the Vols wrong in the past, so I won't believe the Vols are in until I see it in print after the fat lady has sung.

I think we have to win 2 to be in. Bama is also a border team, so if we lose to them in the 2nd round wouldn't they swap us?

I agree, there is no telling what may persuade the committee to keep a team in or out in a given season.

No, that's not the way it works.

I know that's not the way that it's supposed to work but if you are a bubble team and you lose to another bubble team, it would be hard to disregard that. I also wonder why they would want to deemphasize the last 10 games. Isn't the whole objective to get better as the season progresses? UK and UT both lost their best players, both teams had to regroup, redefine roles, people had to step up, coaches had to do more with less. Shouldn't that be rewarded?

Show me where this is a undisputed fact, please.

For those that remember last year, the committee placed a high amount of emphasis on the last 10-12 games when making their final choices. that favors UT more than anyone else

The difference being UK lost their best player well into the season when they were already nearing bubble status.
