‘23 TN LB Arion Carter (Tennessee)

Well honestly. I don't quite agree with that. Saban, Smart, and a handful of others have proven over time that they know how to find, evaluate, and sign highly talented players. They do not and cannot find them all. They pass over equally talented or maybe even more talented players every cycle. However you can count on the vast majority of the guys they pursue and sign being very, very talented. The recruiting sites know that they have recruiting success and not many of their players are outright busts. So if the recruiting sites see a kid with measurables and production (which a LOT of players across the country have) that are recruited by known successful recruiters then they bump them.

Some here have the idea that the recruiting sites independently evaluate all of these kids and draw their own conclusions. They don't. They can't due to time. And investing resources that way wouldn't make sense from a business perspective. Contrary to common perception, they are NOT selling accurate listings of the nation's best players. They are selling subscriptions, hits, and advertising. Those two things have to have some overlap if they want to keep selling... but that overlap can (and is) WAY off "perfect".

Bama et al may be pursuing someone with equal talent to Smith and not Smith simply because they recognized the other kid first and are invested in his recruitment. They may have other reasons that relate just to their own culture and preferences. He may very well be as good as UGA's 5* commits. But Smart has much more credibility right now with the recruiting sites than Heupel does.
I agree. I think it’s a bit of both

It's a bit odd, maybe mildly concerning, that no one has switched their pick or made one in Tennessee's favor since the announcement. Usually a commitment plan shift like this is followed by a flood of predictions. This feels like everyone is waiting for someone to stake their claim before making theirs, and that would seem to point to the idea that nothing solid has been leaked, yet.

That said, I want to believe.

Let’s relax. Arion Carter is a vol. If there wasn’t significant noise wiltfong would not have taken away his cb

Not official yet, don’t get above your skis.

Man, it was such a fun season!

I was pacing the whole 2nd half in the Bama game. Couldn’t sit down. Think I had a 18 pack of Coors Light during the game. I had tears in my eyes for about 10 minutes after the FG. I was shaking. Basilio and Fan Run Radio post game each lasted for 7 hours plus after the Bama game. That’s how much it meant to Volnation

I was balling like a child at times. I can't even put my feelings into words.
