‘23 TN LB Arion Carter (Tennessee)

I'm going to agree that this has the potential to be an elite haul of LB's that helps establish a new era of UT football.

But the stargazers cannot be consistent and agree with you. From a "star" stand point... this is mediocre... maybe even falling behind.
There was only one five star linebacker in the whole entire class.

Seldon is listed as an athlete, what a special linebacker he would make. Dude has legit linebacker size, 6'2", and sub 11 100 m. 10.75 @ 220lbs? Dude hasn't even stepped foot in a collegiate weight room.

Arion Carter and Selden both at linebacker? That's enough to give me the goosebumps..

Then throw in Smith, he is the highest ranked 3 star. I consider him highly underrated. Then you can count three four star LBs and one three star.

Just trying to make you feel better.

Jalen Smith is ranked a 4 star by Rivals.

Wouldnt care if he's a 2 star. There might not have been a better defensive player in the state of Georgia.

Just saying somebody is good or not based on stars makes you a novice at best.

Seldon isn't playing LB at Tennessee. He's going to be doing what Princeton Fant did lining up in the backfield and out at receiver...but he's faster and more athletic than Fant. He's going to be a match up nightmare for defenses.

Saban can suck it....still believe VOL

We are probably selling that he can come in and get the bowl practices, spring practice, and very possibly start next season. I’m guessing Saban came in with a cold hard cash offer the old-school way…free money that you don’t have to anything to earn except sign with Bama.

Seldon playing half back is going to be awesome. I can’t wait to see a guy with his speed, shift, and size taking those Utah passes and running the angle, wheel, digs, and drag routes

This is a fair update. Carter is understandably riding the fence and wondering if he should go to the hyper established juggernaut or roll the dice on the fast riser where he gets more cracks at starting early. That’s a big decision and not an easy one to make. Three years ago this is an easy decision.

I think he wants to be a Vol but Saban is making him suffer from my favorite Silicon Valley quote, “Your whole life you’ve been an ugly chick but now suddenly you’re a hot chick, with big tits and small nipples. Guys like that are going to keep coming around. Don’t be a slut Richard.”

Would be relevant if Bama had been recruiting him longer than September

Staff is confident. But we’ll see. Bama is sneaky

Arion Carter is a top 15 rated LB in this class, Jalen Smith is top 40 and even Telander is top 75. I mean it'd be a pretty damn good haul, and the way we use "edge" guys is more like OLBs anyway. And we have 2 top 15 Edge guys in class with Bradley & Herring.

It may not be elite, but to call it mediocre is a gross exaggeration. Especially when you consider Seldon could end up playing LB and he's a top 125 player listed as an ATH.

Seems like a lot of ppl think that Smith is way underrated too. Telander’s tape is also really impressive, imo
