who would have thought that after a GA loss we'd move into the tourney field. All the losses today have allowed that to happen!

With Baylor's loss, Lunardi moves TN in as the last team in.

We control our own destiny again.

GO VOLS!!

UT caught a huge, huge break today.

No doubt about it. Sometimes you need luck.

Nothing makes sense. Lunardi said himself earlier today that if we lost to Georgia, we'd need to win the SECT to dance. Now he has us in the field?

This doesn't add up.

IDK if he said that. I thought he said we have to win a game in the SECT. I could be wrong.

The crazy thing is that no one expected every bubble team to lose today.

That was before essentially every other bubble team lost.

KY lost, Ole Miss lost, Baylor Lost, Alabama Lost....

It's possible. That would make a lot more sense. Maybe whoever put that in the game thread misquoted him.

We've really lucked out today. We totally got away with this loss. But please guys, no more of those. This -- all these teams losing -- won't happen again.

Lets not get to excited since Lunardi isn't the one who will decide TN fate. After today's loss, they have zero room for error and must win the next 2 games. Play like they did today and its 0-2. Play like they did vs FL and they could be dancing. Hope the right team shows up this coming week.

Don't get to excited. Unfortunately Lunardi isn't very reliable and the fact two of the three quality wins were against injury plagued teams won't sit well with the committee.

i agree, but still it's good to have a bit of hope after all the dark clouds from earlier.

Well....I'm man enough to admit I thought we were out unless we won tourney and said as much...but never expected all the other teams to lose like they did.....why should I, after all we r TN and nothing good happens to us lately :)

The committee doesn't care. It looks at wins and losses. Period. No extenuating circumstances, no injuries, no bad calls, just wins and losses.

Agree 100%. However, I'm tired of getting hyped up and the bubble bursting every time. Just part of being a UT fan these days I guess.

Wins and losses period???? Don't think so bud or UK would be ahead of us right now.

so, we shouldn't trust lunardi but we should trust you on what the committee thinks.

No I don't mean just overall records. I mean who you've beaten, and who has beaten you. The committee doesn't care how or why you won/lost the games you did.

You're comparing two different situations. Tennessee won't be judged negatively because they beat Florida and Kentucky at less than full strength. Conversely, Kentucky will be judged as they are now, and not who they were with Noel, by the committee.
