'20 TN OL Cooper Mays (UT SIGNEE)

I hate the fact that any of the mays family will be around ut. Cade handled his flipping to uga in as classlessness of a manner as is humanly possible. He even had a video he put out on social media where he was singing a song with lyrics changed to F*** ut. It’s so hard to understand how a local legacy kid could ever do that. And you just have to look at the parents. He was like a 17 year old at the time. Seems like the parents would’ve made him put out some sort of statement saying they respect ut but under the circumstances he has elected to go another direction. Nobody could’ve been too upset with him for that. But the way he handled it was so far to the other extreme. Just pathetic. And it’ll be hard for a lot of Tennessee fans to get behind Cooper due to his family. Fair or not. I’d say in the end...if he comes here and gives his all for Tennessee he’ll probably still be able to win the hearts of the ut faithful. We always get behind our young men. But his piece of trash brother did him no favors. Tough knowing how his family kicked us when we were at our lowest point.
In all fairness, alot of our fans were, to put it mildly, not too kind to Cade on social media after he committed to UGA on ESD 2017 and Cade reacted like...gasp...a kid, with that immature Dixieland Delight stunt. Unfortunately, some of our presumably adult fans continue to one up Cade with their juvenile thought processes. I hate we missed on Cade, the pull of playing with his brother may one day bring him back, but objectively it would be really hard for me to think of a program that was more of a ****show than our program was in December 2017, and I'm fairly old. This kid had his future to think about, and he decided not to risk all that. Be glad we have recovered enough that Cooper didn't have those kind of concerns. And lastly if all else fails, smoke a joint, 420, and relax.

Well...I guess I have to walk it back a bit. I’ve seen a couple post on social media regarding cooper and it seems most of the fans are super excited. On this thread as well. So maybe I kinda miscalculated how supportive our fan base would be. Not sure if we’re just that desperate for talent or if we’re a more mature/accepting group than I thought. Maybe a little of both. Either way I can’t believe I’m typing this but...I guess maybe I could take a lesson here on the whole mature/accepting thing and get on board with the kid.

Regardless of what Cade did in his recruitment and what the whole family has had to hear and read, Cooper still chose UT, STILL. Cade is a kid that did and said some questionable things in THE MOMENT. I didn’t like it at the time, but since I’ve raised a teenager and know how they act. I shook my head and moved on.

Let us move on as a fanbase. What Cade decided was his choice and several variables played into that scenario. Cooper is developing, and said to be faster and has been mentioning of his ability on the defensive side of the ball. We might have gotten the better Mays brother.
I gave you a 'like' because that sounds amazing, but very unlikely, IMO.

I have to eat some crow, i didn't think he was serious about his interest in Tennessee. Happy to be wrong about it and it's going to be hilarious when he ends up being better than his brother.

Did you believe the whole Mays family turned UGA just because Cade decided to go to an opposing School because of the shitstorm that was going on at UT, precisely at the same time he had to decide where he's spending the next three or four years of his life? Not to mention, getting coached up by Sam Pittman would be a real draw for any Elite o-lineman.

Rocky top was on fire @ the time.... cant blame the kid. If the roles were reversed & Pruitt had been in year 2 while Cade in the 2020 class.... he would be here Cade was only looking out for his best interests, which is a typical business decision. I've never commented on his decision, yeah it hurt but he isn't to blame.... entirely at least. His actions afterwards sucked & yea I was a little pissed, but so what. He was 17-18 years old. There's countless mistakes I've made @ that age. Most adults will get over this as should you..... unless your some sort of child, then I understand. Bye for now

See I knew you'd feel better after the meds!😁

Going through the whole process with Cade decommitting and facing the backlash of that, it wasn't a sure decision but I got to it and I'm happy with it.
"Just the family feel, feel like home there, all the coaches are great football coaches and great men and it makes for a great place to be."
"Trying to get a few more in-state guys."
I've been texting him recently, just whoever the coaches need me to get on and right now that's Haynes King. He's real cryptic with how he talks, he don't give me too much, I think he takes in everything I'm saying and takes it with a good heart."
Coaches telling commits to recruit King

Issiah Walker puts Reggie Grimes on the ground.
Gervon Dexter pushes Myles Murao into the backfield with a bull rush. Dexter has really nice length on the inside. Murao holds on the second rep. Dexter and Murao lock horns on the last rep and go to the ground. Getting a little feisty.
Cade Mays stones Jamil Burroughs on the first rep. Working at center. Mays gets him on the second, as well. Good strength and anchor from the UT commit. Burroughs gets the last rep with a rip move.

Mays definitely plays bigger than he is. Fitz will get him stronger and bigger, and we will have one hell of a center. And all of those, I don't want Cooper because Cade idiots can suck on a fatty.
He's already gotten a lot bigger.
