'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

He was ejected from the scrimmage. Will be a really good player, but definitely needs to tone down on his activity after the whistle.

He won't make it through a full game if he does the stuff he was doing yesterday in the regular season. I'm all for intensity & aggressiveness, but sometimes it can be too excessive & ultimately unnecessary. He won't be any good to anybody if he is on the sideline.

Either way, besides the stupid personal fouls & penalties he looked really good. Physically dominant & man-handled every defender.

Chip off the OLd block. He's young and will learn where when and what he can get away with.I would still rather have a player I had to reign in from being to aggressive as one I had to make aggressive.

I would rather teach a kid to tone it down then ramp it up. That's the far easier of the two

Love the update. One of my favorite things about football season is getting stat updates on our commits. I always enjoy catching up on those Friday night before game day.

hopefully it was a bama or florida commit he was "fighting" (personal fouls) with. i would understand and appreciate this.

"I just felt like it (Tennessee) was the place for me and when I went there, it just felt like I fit and that was where I always wanted to be," said Mays about his early commitment.

Butch Jones and company have a good one in Mays and even though he still has three years of high school to go, it does not look like they will have to worry much about this one."I am all Vol," Mays said when asked about his commitment status. "I don't want to take anymore visits and I told coach Jones I was committed to him and nobody else.

Just watched this kid's highlights for the first time, and I gotta say, I think I'm in love. Kid seems to love forcefully driving people into the ground LOL.

Does anyone know the extent of the young man's injury? Will he be able to play this year. I'm looking forward to another year of bad az highlights. Still can't believe the highlights I watch of him last year are of a freshman. Serious talent...

Ya speaking of playing I forgot to give my input on how he played last Friday vs. CPA. Knox came in with high hopes of knocking off a really hot team in CPA, but they came away dumbfounded in their simple mistakes and how they seemingly couldn't wear down CPA. Here's my report on Cade and Amari Rodgers.

Cade is simply incredible. He is relentless and has a great motor. He got a pancake on virtually every play. He is the real deal. Sadly though, you can tell he is a sophomore in high school. He is very immature. At the end of the game he didn't shake hands with the players and walked away. Also when one of the CPA players was laying on the field due to cramps, Cade walked over to him and said "You better get your a** up you little b****". It's quite shocking to hear honestly. But nonetheless he is a good player that has a bit of an attitude problem.

Rodgers is a really good athlete. He's fast and has really good hands. He's a good player. I do think he's a little overrated though. He tends to give up on plays if he's not involved and he was held pretty much in check the whole night by smaller better coached corners. I think he's a good player but I'm not sure he would be a huge loss if UT couldn't flip him from Tee and USC.

Well that's my scouting report. CPA doesn't play anybody of note this week so it will be awhile before I bring another of these updates to you fine gentlemen. Good night!

Reading this I can't wait for Cade Mays to greet Saban on the field.
