'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Ya speaking of playing I forgot to give my input on how he played last Friday vs. CPA. Knox came in with high hopes of knocking off a really hot team in CPA, but they came away dumbfounded in their simple mistakes and how they seemingly couldn't wear down CPA. Here's my report on Cade and Amari Rodgers.

Cade is simply incredible. He is relentless and has a great motor. He got a pancake on virtually every play. He is the real deal. Sadly though, you can tell he is a sophomore in high school. He is very immature. At the end of the game he didn't shake hands with the players and walked away. Also when one of the CPA players was laying on the field due to cramps, Cade walked over to him and said "You better get your a** up you little b****". It's quite shocking to hear honestly. But nonetheless he is a good player that has a bit of an attitude problem.

Rodgers is a really good athlete. He's fast and has really good hands. He's a good player. I do think he's a little overrated though. He tends to give up on plays if he's not involved and he was held pretty much in check the whole night by smaller better coached corners. I think he's a good player but I'm not sure he would be a huge loss if UT couldn't flip him from Tee and USC.

Well that's my scouting report. CPA doesn't play anybody of note this week so it will be awhile before I bring another of these updates to you fine gentlemen. Good night!

Was the reported statement by Cade something you heard or was this repeated to you by someone? I ask this because so many times i have heard stuff like this reported as coming from someone that turns out to not be true, yet they are saddled with it for a long time.

Honestly does it matter? Anonymous poster's word on VN carry more weight than someone hearing this from someone else?

Jones will get the attitude issue fixed or more appropriately focused when he gets on campus. I'd rather have a kid with a mean streak to focus personally.

Attitude problem?

Ehhh, not really at all. There were times I didn't shake the opposing teams hands but the other stuff is just playing ball. He just sounds like a bad *** to me.

I played DE all the way thru college.Trust me when I say some of the conversations on the field are not for the faint at heart choir boys.

If he was reporting on an UGA commit you guys would be calling the kid a thug

But I agree I think the attitude is something we haven't had in awhile

I'll go ahead and call this one a thug. :aggressive:

I want more of these type of thugs on our OL.

The OL mentality of a few guys on this team is they feel they deserve to start. They walk out on the team after being listed as a co-starter when they have only started 12 games in there career. Give me a break.

We need the big, ugly, and nasty guys on the front line to match up with the tough SEC defensive lines we are facing.

I'd rather him have that attitude problem as opposed to the one we've seen with some of or O-linemen recently.

Can't believe I just now got around to watching his highlights. I thought "how good could a freshman's highlights be?" Wow! Love the way this kid plays with that nasty mean streak. Reminds me of Kevin Mawae, just the way he plays. I was watching it with my son and telling him THAT is how you need to play OL son, with that mean streak. We were just laughing at him jumping on guys after he knocked them down. This is the type player we need.

I have no issue with Cade talking sh!t. It's refreshing to hear honestly. Now not shaking hands is immature imo

Works for me. We needed some nasty on the OL for a while now. Unless he's playing dirty intentionally trying to hurt folks, pissed off is the best way to play.

This is the kind of player that wins championships and puts fear in the hearts of opposing fans and players. Need 84 more.

AC gonna AC...seems like you are always commenting about GFW's posts. Maybe I have you mixed up with someone else.
