'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

We have heard the rumblings this afternoon regarding Mays. But we want to talk to Cade. He has been good to us for 2 years and we want to hear specifically what he has to say. We are trying to get a hold of him, to hear specifically what he has to say about his recruitment.

***I apologize to everyone including the Mays family for the inaccurate statement about him and Clemson. Cade did NOT go to Clemson with his younger brother. Austin just called me and corrected me.

Cooper Mays went with Bryn Tucker and some others, but Cade didn't go. Again I apologize for the error****

I hope he sticks. We simply have to hire the right guy. I do not have a great amount of faith that we will, but maybe, we have learned. Maybe.

To say the least! I will still be shocked if Mays de-commits.

WHY would it shock anyone if these recruits start abandoning the colossal Titanic of the SS Butch Jones show...??

I would think a recruit would have to be slap blind and totally stupid to believe in anything CBJ says

Mays isn't the average Tennessee commitment. Knoxville native and a Tennessee legacy who has already been committed for over 2 years? I still think we hold on to him but once a decision on Butch's future is made, it must be announced. We can't have two months of uncertainty.

Clemson has been in his ear the whole time. I posted it a year ago and said not a forgone conclusion that Cade is a Vol. I was made fun of as per usual saying I was an idiot.

Did you call him "Case" a year ago as well? If so, I'm sure you were made fun of.

UT will have the opportunity to get Cade Mays back. He and Cooper want to play together where their dad played. He's an EE, though. Got to resolve the coaching issues in time to make the EEs feel secure.

Is it because Cade sees that Butch can't develop and coach players or that he's afraid Butch won't be coach next year and he wanted to play for him?

Maybe he wants to send a message to Currie. You lose a Knoxville 5 star because of Butch that sends a message in and of itself.

Or maybe the message he's sending, if he's sending one, is you lose a Knoxville 5-star because I'm hearing Butch is gone.

Alright Cade, if you stay committed to UT we will just let you call the plays. Something tells me you will call a run play on the goal line.

Deal.

Cade will be a Vol. Now, UTs other 20+ commits may decommit, but Cade won't. I guarantee it

He just took all his Tn stuff off his twitter, no longer even says Tn commit. I hope you didn't bet with anyone. Perusing other teams websites, seems sharks are circling and smell blood in the water. A lot of the big names in this class are listening now to other schools. Some, just in case, others, legitimately looking around.

Ultimately I think you are correct, but for you to tell me that you guarantee it tells me you're not in the know.

Never said I was. Cade is a legacy and that's why I am guaranteeing it. No other reason

Of course they're opening up.

The right hire brings them all back though - not hard to understand.

Yep. All these kids will likely open it back up and have a good backup plan if they don't like the new coach. Don't blame them at all. I would advise my kids to do the same. Hopefully Currie has a new HC hired soon after Bama (if not sooner).

Honestly if he does I wouldn't fault him a bit. If we take off our orange tinted glasses we see this program is a cluster **** right now. If I am a 5star top 25 player in the nation who one day hopes to play in the NFL what benefit could UT provide me? At the programs current condition that's a easy answer.
