'25 TN OL Nic Moore (Tennessee)

Anybody know how this kid’s visit went? Saw he posted a cool picture on Twitter of all the offensive line recruits lined up like they’re blocking for G-Mac.

“I learned that Coach Heupel doesn’t just say things to say them, he is a genuine person,” Moore said of this. “You can tell when he is talking and you’re making direct eye contact with him, he is meaning what he is saying. I am not just another person to him. We had a couple of conversations about both sides of the ball. What the role of the center does. We did a lot of talking, and he told my family about some Smokey Mountain cookies and talked to them about different things. I felt like he not only cared about me, but he cared about my family as well.”

“Right now, it is more about the school fit for me,” Moore said of this. “I have processed everything about the X’s and O’s, and I feel like I could be a good player on both sides of the ball if I just put my head down to the grindstone and work at it. Where I am kind of at right now is comparing the entire system of the schools I have gone to so far, such as how they do the academics, how they give back to the community, the coaching staff, the extracurricular things outside of football, and those types of things.”

“I am just going to wait and not try to put a timeline on myself,” he said. “I am just going to trust God, do as much as I can to keep comparing each, and then I want to be one hundred percent confident in my decision. There is no timeline on that. It is just whenever I am one hundred percent confident in my decision.”

AP has said it depends on where he wants to play. If he wants to play on the DL then it’s WVU. If he wants to play on the OL then it’s us. I think we get him.
AP also said last night his gut says TN in the end. Don’t think that’s a lock solid prediction but what he would lean right now.

I think he visits WV again though. If we don’t land him it’s bc he wants to play Dline. WV has been recruiting him longer and they will tell him whatever he wants to get him there. Family seems to lean Tennessee as well.

His father knows what’s up…he’s a great coach and a helluva man. My daughter is going through the recruiting process. At one point she had heard from D1 soccer programs like Martin, UTC, AP, GA Southern and especially App State. She racked up accolades, including all state…and lead the state in Saves with 192 on an 87% clip…unheard of numbers. We haven’t heard from any of those schools since January. Turns out her height (5’6) makes her “unrecruitable” at that level. We’re now looking at LMU, Concord, Catawba, and Lees McRae. She’s been devastated…doubts herself. It’s been one of the hardest things to watch. I promise it’s just as hard on the parents.
I wish the best for all of you

180 from his previously “not happening” declaration when he was supposed to commit on a Wednesday.

I’m good either way here. I think he’s a very good Oline player but if he doesn’t want to play Oline then we’re fine.
Heupel only wants him as an OL and has been open and honest about that imo. I could have seen the draw to WVU with their recent draft history of centers, but if Neal Brown is straddling that recruiting fence entertaining him playing DL, any potential bs could be detected by anyone with a modicum of savvy. Advantage us!

We need a C and D, oddly enough in this class...

If I were Heupel I would open to giving him a shot a DT first...

I'm not into misleading recruits and wasting a scholarship on a guy who our coaching staff doesn't believe he can play DL. If he wants to play DL and we end up moving him to OL. He'll jump in the portal.

Agreed…stay straight with them. It pays off. See the Wade Twins at Kentucky.

Yeah, that methodology doesn't work anymore without the threat of transfer rules. Gotta be honest with kids these days.

Its not misleading if he gives him a shot as I said.

If it doesn’t work out, maybe he likes Tennessee too much by then to leave and see the error of his ways in thinking that he was a DT.

Maybe not.
