'26 TN OT Gabriel Osenda (Tennessee commit)

No one's mentioned his big bump by Rivals into there Top 60 from unranked. His composite score will definitely increase once 247 and On 3 do update

Rivals is updating their top 250 every month now so no clue how up to date the composites are lol

Didn't make the updated Rivals/On3 300 rankings despite winning MVP at one of their camps this summer.

Still a 3 star and the No. 41 ranked OT....the No. 14 ranked player in TN.

What an absolute joke.
I’m not following. Did Rivals bump him or not?

Honestly couldn't tell you what they had him at before. Probably some politics going on with him on both sides of the coin when it comes to each site ranking him for their own reasons. Gabe is a good player; that's all that matters
He reminds me of Darnell Wright.

Imagine if we had been able to RS Wright back in 2019.

Osenda is a guy we can RS and then he can just ball for 4 years. That’s the ticket right there.

I take that as he’s played 247’s game to his benefit.
And he’s not played On3’s game to his detriment.

Just such a large disparity in their rankings. Feel like all in all he’s probably a solid Top100 recruit - and that indeed is a very good player.

You think he ends up at LT or RT?

With On3 getting Rivals, they got the camp circuit and everything that comes with it (seeing players compete, accurate measureables, etc). 247 doesn't get that access and is fighting to stay relevant anyway. They tried to call their shot with Osenda it felt like (big and athletic kid committed to one of most marketable sites in their network). Then he had some bad beats in an up-and-down day at the Rivals Five Star event in front of all the evaluators for On3. To me, it felt like they overreacted in general to the event to make the differences seem more drastic as the sites compete; I mean everyone there was there for a reason. He's probably not a five star and that's fine but he's DEFINITELY not a three star. He's a solid four-star imho that might have to transition into a RT for the SEC

With the 5 year rule seemingly imminent, the redshirt will go away. But your point remains…he’ll be able to sit and develop without being forced to play.
