I agree...I'm glad Pruitt doesn't do it. I've never been a big fan of the gesture to begin with. Seems like just another 'DAT' or Turnover Trashcan, imo.

Didn't grandfather Dennis Lampley also play his college ball at UT? He is a native of Burns, TN (Dickson County)

As stated earlier, Jackson's dad Brad played for UT and served on the UT Board of Trust until it was recently reorganized by the Governor.. Like you, I don't understand not having connections with Trinity, turned out a lot of good players. Rob Beronas, former kicker with the Titans comes to mind. He played college ball at Auburn & Georgia Southern.

After his coaching career, Dennis Lampley served as athletics director at Trinity. He continues to work there part time during his retirement doing special projects, etc.

The Big Red picked up a huge win Friday, beating arch-rival Brentwood Academy 25-24 in overtime. Lampley was a road-grader, leading a rushing attack that gained 158 yards and two touchdowns. The future Vol also helped pave the way on MBA's game-winning 2-point conversion.
